Invictus is a movie that speaks how Nelson Mandela the President of South Africa, brings together his nation with the help of game rugby. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years of his life in prison fighting for the cause of rights of dark skin people. This movie shows how after Mandela was sworn in as The President how white people started thinking that their rights would be hampered. But to their surprise Mandela worked for the country and for the people of the country. Springbooks the rugby team which was a team which had major white players. Mandela as a black President supported Springbooks to unite his country and win the trust and support of white people of his country. The scene in the movie which I like the most is the one in which Francois the captain of the Springbooks team goes to visit the cell in which Mandela stayed for 27 years of his life. The cell in which Mandela stayed was just enough for him to stretch his hands. Francois standing there realized that even though Mandela lived in that confined place for such a long time but his thoughts had no boundaries. After all that hard time that he spent in jail he chooses to forgive each and everyone. He just had a big aim in his mind which was the development of his nation and his people. Francois there realized that in order to be great or achieve great he needs to unite his team. This scene in the movie I suppose is my personal favorite. This scene tells us that punishing someone may give us satisfaction but forgiving someone gives us the greatness it bestows us with peace of mind and soul. It’s not the place where person lives makes that person great it’s the thought of the person that make them great. Nelson Mandela chooses to lead his own soul. He loved his country and people choose to work for them. Invictus I believe is a course book in itself. All its scenes could be read and understood as lessons of life. Invictus I believe is a course book in itself. All its scenes could be read and understood as lessons of life. Every scene that we come across makes us realize that how some really small details of our life that we miss could bring about great change in our life. It questions our humanity, our feelings, our love towards nation, our power to forgive, etc. Life seems to come as an exam with complex questions and this movie put forward the simplest answer to them.
