Landfills can not be opened without prior disinfection: it threatens to spread the harmful microorganisms and insects

In the EU, there are about 9000 large and medium-sized landfills ready to be closed. Altogether, they have accumulated over 4.5 billion tons of household waste:

●Over 270 km2 of “desert zones”;●120-150 mln m3 of toxic filtrate per year;●Source of pathogens which are spread by birds, insects and rodents

●Source of over 100 greenhouse gases that cause poisoning and serious humans and animal diseases;

These threats become the subject of criticism by the public authorities all over the world.

We resolve the problem of old landfills - the NBB technology

•In 3-5 months:•The biomass is converted into a soil (humus);•A significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions;•The volume of the landfill is reduced by 30-50%;•The natural allowable concentration is reduced to acceptable standards;•The polygon can be sorted and recycled.

The technology consists in including of natural enzymes and microorganisms into the landfill body and in creation of conditions for their reproduction.

In 2008-2009, in Gdansk (Poland), the old city dump was deactivated including the dangerous cattle cemetery. On the cleaned area for the European football championship "Euro 2012" a stadium PGE Arena Gdańsk with 44 thousand viewers capacity was built

•The areas of the city dumps in Ukraine in the cities of Kerch (Crimea) and Kramatorsk (Donbass) were successfully cleared. The project was stopped due to political reasons.•The researches on the NBB technology of decontamination of old landfills were conducted in the cities of Moscow, Samara and Sochi (Russia), Almaty and Astana (Kazakhstan), and Lyubotin and Bogodukhov (Ukraine). The results have been positively accepted by the clients.

Our solutionThe basics of CFB boilers functionality are as follows:

•In a special chamber a layer of coal and a small amount of air is put on the lattice. After preheating process of the layer of coal, the burning with the release of the combustion gases will be started. Thus, in case of fulfilling of the burning coal, a fixed bed of burning will be kept stable, i.e. the stratified combustion of coal will take place.•With the rise of air increasing under the grate at the coal particles that are on the grid, the velocity pressure will act against the force of gravity acting on each particle of coal. At a certain speed of air the coal particles will be suspended in a stream of air and the thickness of burning layer will increase.•With further increase of the air velocity the initially separated air bubbles will appear in the layer, and then, with increasing of layer thickness (known as the bubble fluidized bed, because it is similar to a boiling liquid) due to the further increase of the air loss, combustion of coal particles throughout the chamber with vigorous stirring will occur.•At the same time an increasing number of coal particles won’t have time to be burnt and will be taken out of the chamber. The cyclone is set on their way - a cylindrical vessel in which the products are separated from the combustion of unburned particles. The products from combustion are directed into the second part of the boiler (the so-called convective shaft) - for heating the working fluid (water or steam) and unburnt particles will be moved in a swirling flow dropped to the walls and fall down again to be sent into the combustion chamber. This is the CFB effect. It’s main feature is that the circulating material is hundreds of times bigger than the amount of air supplied for combustion.
