Due to the large number of species of plants and animals, scientist put similar animals in groups. This is called classification.

How are living things classified?

What are Vertebrates and Invertebrates ?

Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone while invertebrates are animals without a backbone.

Which animals are invertebrates?

The groups of invertebrates include: jellyfish and sea anemones, flatworms, roundworms, segmented worms, molluscs, starfish and sea urchins and arthropods.
