Integrative studies 3301 Career and Professional development give the student a

great deal of opportunities to prepare what is necessary for finding the perfect

employment and/or career opportunity. The steps include interview strategies and

resume writing.

The interview strategies that we studied throughout the semester was to

ensure that the candidate who is seeking their opportunity with a potential

employer is to ensure that there is a great first impression which includes to dress

properly, relax, cultural considerations, and most importantly to pay attention to all

forms of details during the interview session. This is where once is simply selling

themselves to the potential employer, why should we hire you, what makes you the

best candidate. Secondly, is the interview itself which consist of important factors

such as to tailor ones communication, seek input, be honest and truthful, to close

the interview successfully. Lastly, send the company/interviewer a thank you note

for their time and be visible but not a nuisance.

The resume is probably one of the most important factors when seeking a

new career or finding that perfect job one is seeking after graduation or during their

senior year while in school. However it is essential that one includes important

information. One needs to have the proper contact information present and to

ensure that they have a professional email address. Ensure to have keywords in

key places throughout ones resume, as many companies use computers that seek

key words for the perfect resumes. One needs to have a job objective, The more

your job objective seems to fill a company`s need, the better chance one getting an

interview. Lastly, one needs to be sure to place awards, recognitions, and any

forms of training within the resume, as one is simply selling themselves to a

company looking for the perfect candidate.
