HOLY COMMUNION We invite actively practicing Catholics who are properly disposed to come forward to receive Holy Communion. Our brothers and sisters of other faiths are invited to approach with arms crossed over the chest to receive a blessing. At Holy Family we receive the combination of the Body and Blood of Christ on the tongue. If you prefer to receive just the Body of Christ in your hand, please have your hands clearly out before you approach. COMMUNION ANTIPHON Gregorian chant, mode IV Inclina aurem tuam, accelera, ut eruas nos. Lend your ear and make haste to rescue us. Ps 31:3ab SECOND COLLECTION Peter’s Pence
Funds received for this collection enable the Holy Father to carry out his charitable works around the world. For example, in Nyamirambo, Rwanda, the Salesian Sisters of the Sacred Hearts used contributions from Peter’s Pence to expand their building enabling them to increase education for poor, hearing-impaired children. CLOSING HYMN Saint Michael Hymnal 641 Now Thank We All Our God ——————–————————————————————–———————————————————

POTENTIAL FACILITY EXPANSION UPDATE: Over a decade ago our parish engaged in some future planning exercises. Due to the Great Recession, these plans were put on hold. Now we are revisiting our facility needs and exploring the potential for enhancements. It is clear that our current facilities do not provide adequate space for parish or school activities. An expansion could allow space for: more parish meeting rooms, a parish library, extra classrooms for Holy Family Academy and a large multi-purpose space which would function as gym, auditorium, theater, and event space for parish festival, spring dinner, etc. Our parish has hired the local firm of Mark Davy and Associates to conduct a feasibility study regarding this project. We ask for your prayers and cooperation as they contact parishioners in the coming weeks. The only way we can accurately discern our potential to go forward is with everyone’s full and honest cooperation in this study.
P G H S
Come Holy Spirit! Enlighten our minds and hearts as we seek
Your wisdom to guide our efforts for the future of our parish.
Make us grateful for the sacrifices of those who came before us and whose legacy of faith we have inherited.
Inspire us with ways to strengthen our future as a witness of the Gospel in the Twin Cities
and Your instrument for the formation of the next generation of Christians.
May the Holy Family of Nazareth be our model and may we always live united in charity
with Jesus at the center of our lives. Amen.

L F . W To the members of Holy Family Parish, While it is my serious intent to respond individually to the outpouring of affection that so many of you have shown me, on the occasion of my ninetieth birthday, I have asked Father Joseph to allow me to use this issue of the parish bulletin to offer both to him and to you, a public “Thank You” for your many prayers and good wishes. And a special word of thanks is due to those who, on a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon, took the time to attend the reception hosted in my honor by Father Joseph and the ladies of the parish. I was deeply moved. I thank our dear Lord for having given me the privilege of serving this wonderful parish for these past five years. Your evident faith and deep devotion have been an inspiration to all of the priests who have been blessed to share in the pastoral ministry here. I have already begun and will soon complete the offering of a sequence of nine holy Masses for your intentions. Thank you again and God Bless You! With humble and abiding gratitude, In Christ our Lord, Father George Welzbacher
