6. OTHER GENERAL BUSINESS 6.1 C. Oataway suggested having only 2 discos per year. Most agreed this would be something to consider for 2016. J Jones noted they are a lot of work and teacher helpers are needed to supervise which is difficult on a Friday night. It was suggested that the Term 3 Disco be cancelled as well as the Term 2 Disco and that the next Disco be held in Term 4.

This will need to be discussed at the August Meeting.

The new computer has been ordered and apps will be purchased once the computer arrives. Playground markings supplier has been contacted. He has a backlog of work and will let C. Oataway

know when he can get to Hay. The school has asked the P&C to identify a suitable PA system. We will investigate options and put

back to the committee for endorsement. Tandou has provided $1,000 as a contribution toward the purchase of a PA system.

The Executive does not wish to progress a Harry Potter themed day in 2015 as plans are in place for Book Week and they feel the interruption to routine and the extra time for teachers to plan a theme day would be a little too much at this point in time. They have suggested considering it for Book Week 2016 or alternatively to just have a lunch for all students this year.

In relation to emailing parents re P&C matters, C. Oataway has advised that emails would be a little difficult as not all parents provide email addresses.  However, the school’s Facebook page can be used to post P&C news.

The disco due to be held on Friday 12th June has been postponed til Term 3 due to unavailability of staff to assist with supervision.4.1 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

P&C Meeting 11th June 2015

Principal’s Report School Matters:

Current enrolments 202. No new enrolments this term. School Plan implementation – plan for 2015 is in place and the school is

currently on track with its milestones. Teachers are currently working under a Performance and Development Plan –

teachers are undergoing goal setting sessions at the moment with the Principal. The aim is for teachers to be continually reviewing and planning to improve their teaching practice. Going well so far. All teachers are committed to the process.

All teachers currently working with their stage teams and planning is well underway for Term 3.

Parents have been offered interviews with class teachers for Week 10. It is important that parents see this as part of the reporting cycle and are strongly encouraged to attend.

School Development Day – Beginning of Term 3, teachers will be developing Maths assessment tasks for each term, use of the literacy / numeracy continuum, investigating the use of a free app – See / Saw which will potentially be used to share students’ work with parents.

School has developed a Facebook page and is using it to celebrate students’ achievements, post notifications and messages and share students’ learning.
