Getting Ready for the Study Abroad Experience
REQUIREMENT D1: ONLINE PRE-DEPARTURE & IN-COUNTRY COURSE
• 1 credit Winter or Summer Term (P/F) running throughout your program abroad
• Provides knowledge and skills SA participants need to make the most of their experience.
Strategies, knowledge, and skills from the Pre-Departure Portion for:
* determining personal goals
* understanding cultural and social characteristics of SA destination(s)
* exploring global and local differences
* understanding intercultural adjustment and communication

• 2/4-credit regular semester course right upon return from you SA Experience (Letter Grade).
• Required upon return (semester immediately following return to Binghamton)
• Provides students with the learning context to integrate skills and knowledges acquired throughout the Minor
• Requires students to complete their Professional Interest Project (seeds are found in their work of 394)
