Peach

Peach has been an affectionate companion for her owner for a number of years.

She is a small dog, a Chihuahua, who is very well behaved. She is three years old. She helped her previous owner, Mary, by alerting her when there was someone at

the door. The previous owner, Mary,

was a little deaf so Peach was a fabulous pet. Unfortunately,

Mary cannot afford to keep Peach anymore.

Task - Please read the information about Peach.

Model AnswerIntroduction. What have you been considering today and why?My family and I are going to be choosing a dog today! We have been in contact with the Dog’s Trust and have a choice of three suitable dogs. Together, we have been looking at the pictures and the information sent to us about each dog.

Which dog are you going to choose and give three reasons for your choice. It wasn’t an easy choice but we have made a final decision. We are going to choose Stew, the Labrador. Firstly, I have always wanted a dog like the one in the Andrex advert; I have finally been given that opportunity! In addition, as he has been entered into competitions, we know that he is well behaved. Moreover, we really want to breed dogs and Stew would give us the chance! My aunty has already said that she would love a puppy! We can’t wait. We have already decided to keep one of them!

Give a reasons why the other two dogs would not be suitableHowever, when considering the dogs, we decided that a Chihuahua would be way too small. I am really clumsy and would almost definitely fall over it! We felt that Stew, the Alsatian, would just be too powerful for us to handle. He is also quite old.

Tell me how excited your are and when you are going to the Dog’s Trust to pick up your chose dog.I am so excited about having a new dog. We will be going to The Dog’s Trust on Wednesday to pick him up! I can’t wait!

Continue drafting your own version.

Model Answer

I strongly believe that pupils should wear school uniform. This is a vital feature of any school.

The first reason I think this is that it makes the pupils look smart. When a visitor comes to the school, this is what they will notice first and it will give a first impression of the whole school.

Furthermore, with all pupils wearing the same clothes, there will be no differences between them. All pupils will look the same. This will mean that there is no reason for pupils to pick on each other.

Moreover, teachers will be able to identify their pupils on a school trip easily. This is vital when taking pupils to a busy place such as a museum in London. Pupils from Ipsley will stand out and will also look smart both in school and out.

On the other hand, some people believe that pupils should not have to wear school uniform. They might think that school uniform is uncomfortable and restrictive. Also, they might believe that everyone wearing the same takes away a person’s identity.

In conclusion, I firmly believe, that all pupils should wear school uniform.
