GWR Franchise Commitments

▪ Achieve ISO14001 and ISO50001 across the business

▪ Achieve a recycling rate of 75%

▪ Install Automatic Meter Readers on all water supplies at stations and depots

▪ Install intelligent heating and lighting controls

▪ Install Air Source Heat Pumps to reduce energy consumption

Waste

GWR have a Recycling Target of 75%

Working towards this with the aid of both waste contractors and cleaning teams

Initiatives include:

▪ Introduction of coffee cup recycling at depots

▪ Better facilities and signage at Stations

▪ Back of house segregation

War on Plastic

GWR focusing on how to reduce plastic use across our lounges and onboard:

▪ Working with the supply chain to alternatives to plastic bottles

▪ Installing water refill points

▪ Encouraging packaging to be reduced

▪ Working towards a plastic free lounge and onboard trolleys

▪ Requirement for First Bus, GWR, SWR and TPE

▪ This requirement includes:

− DMR waste

− Provision of bins and skips for the different waste streams

▪ Approximately 340 locations

▪ Lotting is a potential strategy option for First Group
