Introduction to the A2

Media Course

• Next year, as part of the A2 Media Studies course, I will have to complete an Advanced Portfolio in Media which will involve producing a main artefact, two ancillary artefacts and an accompanying blog containing my research, planning and evaluation materials. I will also have to sit an exam on Critical Perspectives in Media which is where I will need to show my understanding of media theory and how it applies to my own product, as well as to real media texts.

• As part of my Advanced Portfolio, I need to create a promotional package for the release of an album, which will include a music promo video, together with two ancillary products: a website homepage for the band, and a CD Digipak.

• In regards to last year’s course, I am highly pleased with the outcome and so this year I am going to try my hardest in order to maintain the same level of focused work and quality, and from there, do all I can to improve upon it.
