Ron has worked in the constructionindustry since 1969. He is a specialist in contract negotiations and has beenresponsible for the successful completionof major Sydney based projects, includingmulti-storey commercial and residential,hotels, new and refurbished shoppingcentres and airport terminals. During theSydney 2000 Olympic Games, Ron wasdirectly responsible for the establishmentand delivery of the Procurement andLogistics Services.

Matthew specialises in the delivery phase of aproject and has worked on several landmarkprojects in Sydney’s CBD. 259 George StreetSydney

Iconic CBD building undergoing a major refurbishment pro-gramme comprising 22,000m2 of commercial offices and a 5,000m2 retail and food court podium.

Cadence Australia has been appointed by Colonial First StateProperty to provide a comprehensive range of project manage-ment services, from concept design through to design devel-opment, construction and handover.

The project involves extensive demolition and structural worksto the podium levels to accommodate the new retail and foodcourt areas.

The building is to remain partially tenanted during the refurbish-ment process resulting in a range of complex staging and pro-gramming requirements for the project. Cadence Australia isworking closely with Colonial First State Property, the buildingmanager and tenants to deliver a positive outcome for all stakeholders. (1)

Prince Henry at Little BayLittle Bay

This landmark site is located 14km south-east of Sydney’sGPO, on the eastern side of Anzac Parade. It forms part of the site known as Prince Henry (The Coast Hospital),including The Coast 18-hole Golf Club and the now redundant hospital.

Cadence Australia has been appointed Project Manager for the redevelopment. We are collaborating closely withLandcom to achieve a unique urban renewal of this significant estate.

The project involves redeveloping 32 hectares of the total sitearea of 85 hectares. This will include building 900 residences,including retail/commercial facilities, accommodation for existingcommunity groups, aged care facilities and a medical centre.The total site is heritage-listed with 18 buildings to be retainedand restored. (2)

Initial works for the project involve extensive demolition andremediation works as well as complex Authority approvals,including 16 Development Applications.

Cooks CoveArncliffe

The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is acting for the State Government to manage the Cooks Cove development.Cadence Australia has been appointed project developmentmanager for the SHFA.

The project involves relocating the existing Kogarah Golf Clubto make available land for a 22-hectare trade and technologydevelopment. Cadence Australia has been involved in theapproved Master Plan and REP preparation through to detailedenvironmental, planning, feasibility, stakeholder managementand landowner negotiations.

The project includes the consolidation of 100 hectares of StateGovernment, local Council and privately owned land. This includes producing complex development and deliveryagreements. Several community benefits flow from this project,include the construction of foreshore walkways, new andaccessible public parks, the removal of contamination liabilities,security of land tenure for the golf club, creating new localsporting facilities and the ongoing management of the site’swetland environment. SilkwoodSurry Hills

Located in Surry Hills on the fringe of Sydney’s CBD, this site has been developed as a joint venture by the NSW TeachersFederation and Teachers Federation Health. (4)

The project includes the construction of 48 apartments, commercial office space on the ground and first floors, a 400 seat auditorium and lounge facility and 3 levels of base-ment carparking. The project also includes the refurbishment of the faćade and roof of the existing, adjoining Teachers Federation Building.

The new building has a stand-out architectural quality and is an integral part of the upgrade of the Surry Hills area.
