The intelligent InstallationWizard only presentsconfiguration screensbased on the itemsselected by the administrator.

The new N1800 Installation Wizard provides an easy way to configure the device.

Administrators can join the N1800 to a Domain for addedsecurity and to enforce policy.

By default the N1800 is part of the WORKGROUP, Workgroup.

Joining a Domain is easy as long as administratorrights are provided.


Installation Wizard – Admin Password

Administrators can usethe Installation Wizardto conveniently changethe Admin password whenconfiguring other featuresof the N1800 network Scanner.

Simply provide a new password and confirm.

Changing the Admin Password is very straight-forward.

Store your password in a safe location.


Installation Wizard – IP Address

By default the N1800 hasDHCP On to automaticallyobtain an IP address and instantly be available onnetworks.

Most network administratorstend to assign a static IPaddress to peripherals so that the IP address will never change.

Connecting the ScanSnap N1800 to a network is automatic.

All peripherals on computer networks require an IP address in order to communicate.

relevant to them.

ScanSnap N1800 Job Menu’s add an additional level of customization to the user interface.

Job Menu membership could be the guest account, all local accounts, all LDAP users or just selected LDAP users

Job Menu List could be organized however makes sense whether by department, location or job responsibilities.

Users can scroll the Job Menu List if they have more than six available to them.


Job Menu – Accounting (Example)

Job Menu’s are easy to create and provide great controlover the scanning experience.

For example, an accountingdepartment wants all scanned “Invoices” to be saved in black & white mode and sent to an [email protected] e-mail address as well as saved to their corporate “h:\” network drive.

Meanwhile, they want all scanned checks saved in color mode and sent via fax, also sent via FTP and printed simultaneously with one button.
