The NAMA registry
Purpose
• A platform to help countries prepare and implement individual NAMAs:• Record information on NAMAs and support available• Facilitate matching• Recognize other NAMAs

Important points:Participation is voluntary. Not a requirement to receive or provide support.Not an obligation to provide support or a guarantee that support will be provided.Not a system for formally reporting on proposed actions or their results. Those submitting information are responsible for accuracy.

Registry roles
• NAMAs require central approval:• NAMA approvers (NA): full access to country’s NAMAs
– 1 per country
• NAMA developers (ND): create NAMAs, edit/delete their NAMAs, search queries (e.g. project formulators)– Actors: To be decided by the Non‐Annex I party
• Information on support available can be entered by “support editors”
Registry roles
The role of the NAMA approver
• NAMA approvers:– Are critical to the registry because they will either create or approve all NAMA entries for their country
– Responsible for ensuring the quality of the registry content for their country
– They are a key gateway for enforcing any national level requirements for NAMAs

• The secretariat aims to provide support to NAMA approvers in carrying out their functions
• The secretariat has capacity to host webinars to facilitate sharing of experiences and best practices of among NAMA approvers:– Suggestions for topics of future webinars can be sent to NAMA‐[email protected].
• Parties interested in sharing lessons and experiences as NAMA approvers are asked to approach the secretariat.

• Regional workshops• NAMA Registry website will contain: – A manual explaining registry functions.– Pre‐recorded demonstrations of registry functions. – Recorded webinars. – Centralized list of NAMA approver contacts (voluntary).
