Disadvantages of Using the IF-AT®
1. Distributing paper versions of tests compromises test and item security
2. There is opportunity for peeking at others’ answers
3. Individual and team tests have to be hand-scored4. IF-ATs® have only one answer key per 250 sheets;
there is a possibility that students may figure out the key if several tests containing several items are given, reducing the number of possible ways instructors can cut up the sheets.
