This trip takes place in the western corner of Maine, near the border town of Jackman. The Moose Bow River Trip has long been a favorite for those looking for a unique wilderness experience and is well known among canoeists as being one of the fi nest mul -day trips in the state. The river lies at the heart of a 20,000 acre public reserve and has several class I and II rapids and a spectacular waterfall that highlights the trip in this remote area. This trip provides the explorer with scenic landscapes of the Moose River Valley and a variety of wildlife. It is a fascina ng area that holds treasures for those interested in canoeing, fi shing, sightseeing, photography, history, and more. Our trip will begin at Holeb Pond, 20 miles to the west of Jackman. Aſt er a short paddle to the western end of the pond we’ll meet up with the Moose River. We’ll spend the fi rst three days naviga ng downriver with the fi nal day exploring the shores of A ean Pond.
