INTRODUCTION PARTIAL LEAST SQUARE (PLS) WORKSHOP ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK (ANN) WORKSHOP THEME KEYNOTE SPEAKERS POSTER PRESENTATION EXTENDED ABSTRACT PAPER SUBMISSION In cooperation with the Division of Research and Industrial Linkages, the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences of Universiti Teknologi MARA Kedah is hosting iCMS2013 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Statistics which will be held at Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Feringgi Beach, Penang, Malaysia on the 28th and 29th of August 2013. He is the Editor-In-Chief of BULLETIN, the official interna- tional journal of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society. 2. Associate Professor Dr. Ismail Musirin, Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia. He is the Editor-In-Chief of International Journal of Power, Energy and Artificial Intelligence (IJPEAI). iCMS2013 is pleased to announce that an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) workshop will be conducted in conjunc- tion with the conference. The 2-days workshop will take place on 26-27th August 2013 and the number of seats available is limited. The objective of the workshop is to introduce the basic understanding of artificial neural network (ANN), its network design criteria and techniques on training and testing. It is designed to provide an understanding and application of ANN in solving non-engineering problems. No heavy mathematical equations or programming will be introduced since toolboxes and templates for coding will be provided during the course. The workshop will be delivered by none other than the Keynote Speaker himself, Associate Professor Dr. Ismail Musirin, Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia Authors are required to submit the extended abstracts electronically, using the confBay conference management system. The abstract deadline is on 15 March 2013 Papers to be presented in this conference must not have been presented, accepted or published elsewhere. The objective of the workshop is to provide an in-depth introduction into PLS path modelling approach (the nature of causal modelling, analytical objectives, some statistics), including the evaluation of the measurement results and complementary analytical techniques. The lectures will be supplemented by hands-on instructions on empirical applications. The workshop will be delivered by Prof T Ramayah from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
