Intra Moot Court Competition

In this academic year the moot court society of Rayat College of Law conducted an Intra MootCourt Competition in which our faculty members played an important role of judges.

DATE OF COMPETITION

This competition took place on 27th and 28th August 2019. It was a two days event divided asfollows:-

· Preliminary -Round. (27th August)

· Quarter Finals. (27th August)

· Semi Finals. (28th August)

· Final Round. (28th August)

TEAMS

A total of 12 teams took part in this competition, out of which 8 teams qualified for the quarterfinals , 4 teams qualified for the semi finals and 2 in the final round

The final teams consisted the following members:-

OREINTATION PROGRAM-LLB(3YEAR)On 26/08/2019 Rayat College of law organised Orientation Program for facilitating FresherBatch of LL.B. (3 Year) to get information about their Academic Curriculum and Rules ofConduct of the Institution.The Programmes started at 10:00 AM at Moot Court hall where all the students of the samebatch was assembled along with the faculty in charge. In the beginning DR. MONIKA SHARMA(Officiating Principle) of Rayat College of Law gave her motivational speech to the new batchand tell them to start their legal career with full zeal and zest.After that Mr. AJITABH MISHRA (Assistant Professor in Law) gave the vote of thanks toPrincipal Mam and he also motivate the students to follow Self – Discipline and also talk aboutthe following main point:(1) Rules of Conduct and Discipline(2) Academic Scheme and Evaluation Scheme(3) Rules regarding Scholarship SchemeAt about 12:00 PM students performed various other activities in Talent Hunt where thequestions from general Legal knowledge is asked and those students who gave maximum

correct answers were awardedIn the end about 3:30 PM students were given refreshments and the orientation programmesconcluded.

Conference on International Commercial and Arbitration Laws

It's a matter of great pride that our 6 students represented our college at PURC , Ludhiana on30th August 2019 , in conference on International Commercial and Arbitration Laws and baggedappreciation.

Workshop

A workshop on mooting. “MOOTING- AN OVERVIEW” by RAYAT COLLEGE OF LAW MOOTCOURT SOCIETY (RCLMCS) was conducted on 5th September,2019.Student of RCL participated with great enthusiasm. The Convenor- EDWARD AUGUSTINEGEORGE, Co-Convenor- ABHISHEK MAINI, Along with PRAKASH- MEMBER headed theworkshop, with the support of fellow Coordinators ABISHAI GEORGE, PURVA JUNEJA, ANURAGKAUSHIK. And under the esteem guidance of Teacher Convenor- DR. CHARU DUREJA.

Exchange program and higher studies atManchester law school

Today an Interactive session for exchange program and higher studies at Manchester lawschool was held at Rayat College of Law, Railmajra. The guest for the session were EmmaSeagreaves, Associate head of law and Mr. Damian Mather, Programme Director of ManchesterMetropolitan University, United Kindoms, Manuj BSM Legal Advisors & Strategy Consultants andMukeshVashisht BSM Legal Advisors & Strategy Consultants. The agenda of our guests were tolet our students know about higher level education oppurtunities and spread awareness aboutInternational Human Rights law, also the students were taught about further opportunities in thefield of law. The guest were felicitated by Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal Rayat College of Law,Railmajra and Dr. CharuDureja, Convener Moot Court Society. Session was organized by RayatCollege of Law Moot Court Society (RCLMCS) - Core team includes Convener AbhishekMaini ,Co - Convener Edward Augustine George , Student Coordinator Abhishai George, StudentCoordinator Divya Grover, Student Coordinator PurvaJuneja, Student Coordinator Nitish Rajoria,Member AnuragKaushik ,Member Sahib Singh.

NATIONAL LAW FEST 2019

The first day of National Law Fest is concluded today in which around 150 participantsSubmitted and presented their paper in the National Seminar on the theme of Transformation inSociety and laws; Issues and Challenges. The event is inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. (Dr)Meenu Paul and Guest of Honor Prof (Dr.) RenuKapila.and after that paper was presented andsessions was Chaired by Prof. (Dr.) VandanaArora and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur. the award for bestpaper presentation was awarded to Mr. VaibhavSandeepSaini and Ms. ParampreetKarray.

The valedictory ceremony of National Law Fest 2019

The valedictory ceremony of National Law Fest 2019 is on 29th September 2019. Chief GuestMrs. RahishPahwa (Senior Advocate P&H High Court) and Guest of Honor Mr. Bikramjit SinghPassi (Senior Advocate P&H High Court) was honored by SardarNirmal Singh Rayat (Chairman,RGI) further Dr. Monika Sharma gave her word of appreciation to the Guest of the ceremony andchairman, RGI. Dr. Akashdeep Singh then gave the vote of thanks to all the heads andorganisers of the Fest and furthermore the winners of the various competitions were awarded

by the dignitories and the efforts of the organisingcommittee were also being appreciated by the

honorable dignitories, lastly the veledictory ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.

t is indeed a matter of great pride for RCL that our student Mr.VaibhavSandeepSaini represented the college at the 4th CARTAL (Centre for AdvancedResearch & Training in Arbitration Law) Conference at National LawUniversity,Jodhpur,Rajasthan. The theme was "Navigating Murky Waters"- AddressingUncertainties in International Arbitration in which our student received the token of appreciationfor the best presentation. The Conference was honoured by Hon'bleMr. JusticeMadanLokur(Former Judge of Supreme Court of India and presently at Supreme Court of Fiji).

National Moot Court competition held at the IIMT College of Law

Our College that a team comprising of1.) Saksham student of BA LLB 7th semester,2.) Jashanpreetkaur B.COM LLB 7th semester and3.)SamridhiChhabra B.COM LLB 3rd semester have been awarded as 1st runners up out of the48 teams from all over the nation who participated into the National Moot Court competitionheld at the IIMT College of Law,GreaterNoida. They were felicitated by former Chief Justice ofIndia *'Justice K.G. Balakrishan'* and *Justice Z.D Khan, former Justice of Allahabad HighCourt*. With god's grace they managed to bring not only the trophy as a feather into their capbut also awarded a prize money of 11,000. The team is thankful to the college faculty members.

National Moot Court Competition

RCL students of 3 rd semester won first prize in National Moot Court Competition at CareerPoint University, Hamirpur. Ms AasthaMrAditya, Ms Vaishali gave a tough fight to participants.Aditya even got special felicitation for his oratory skills. They won a cash Prize of Rs 5000 and 7certificates in all. congratulations to our stars... Well done guys

MVN UNIVERSITY JUSTICE P.N BHAGWATI MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURTCOMPETITION

AyushiPanwar, TannuTyagi and Sahib Singh of our esteemed college has participated in MVNUNIVERSITY JUSTICE P.N BHAGWATI MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION,2019, Held on 11th and 12th October, 2019 at Palwal.There were total 42 teams participating from different regions and we are happy to announcethat our students had reached semi finals and secured 3rd position in the competition.

2nd Justice A.S. Anand Mediation and Negotiation Competition,

Ms.Arshnoor ( 2nd Year)participated in the 2nd Justice A.S. Anand Mediation and Negotiation Competition, 2019 heldfrom 8-9th November, 2019 at University Institute of Legal Studies (U.I.L.S), Panjab University,Chandigarh.

Mr. VaibhavSandeepSaini acted as a Mediator and won the award for the 'BEST MEDIATOR' (1stPosition) with a Cash prize of Rs. 7500/- Mr. Vaibhav gave a tough fight as the final round wasagainst the team of NLSIU,Banglore.

YOUTH PARLIAMENT COMPETITION

On 8th November 2019, Rayat College of Law Railmajra organized a Youth ParliamentCompetition on the topic of “Revoking of Article 370”i.e. special status to the state of Jammu&Kashmir.. 40 students participated in the competition. They successfully tried to create a lookof Parliament. Ms Roubble (BALLB 9th Sem) was the speaker of the Competition. Beforestarting the Competition the Speaker explained the rules of the Competition. The Competitionjudged by MrAjitabhMishra (Assistant professor of Law) and Ms Baljeet Kaur (Assistantprofessor of English). The result was announced at the end of the Competition. The First winnerwas Mr Karan (BCOM.LLB 7th Sem), the first Runner up was Ms Manpreet (BALLB 7th Sem) andthe Second Runner up was Mr Nitish Rajoria(BALLB 5th Sem. At the end of the CompetitionPrincipal Dr. Monika Sharma congratulated the winners and further encouraged the students toparticipate more actively in Competition

LEGAL AID TRAINING

This report is about LEGAL AID TRAINIG for the students of the final year of RAYAT COLLEGEOF LAW,which was scheduled for three from 21-11-2019 to 23-11-2019 .On the first day oftraining the students were shown the working front office,mediation centre, permanent lokaddalat and were also taken to the district courts Roopnagar.PLV(para legal volunteer) Gagansir shown the working of the front office

On second day students were taken to the district jail,Roopnagar.Superintendent Amrik singh,Deputy superintendent Mohan lal shown the jail On the very last day of training there was the

interaction session between the students ,Advocate Manveer singh Dhindsa and he told that tobecome a PLV there is a proper procedure which needs to be followed

Fresher's party, 2019

Rayat college of law organised it's fresher's party for the new admittedstudents on September12, 2019. Many students took part in this event. Miss Radhika from B.A.Llb 1st semester wasselected as miss fresher and Mr Nikhil garg was selected as Mr fresher. And miss Sukriti fromLlb 3 year , semester 1 was selected as miss fresher and Mr Sahil was selected as Mr fresher.
