Performance NotesLet The Heavens Rejoice is a joyful and very energetic setting of the Christmas psalm; therefrain is easy enough to sing with little or no congregational rehearsal. Originally written forchildren’s choir with guitar, it appears here in an arrangement made for the recording “HereWith Us Now.”

A simple, effective instrumental arrangement is piano, organ, bass, and guitar, with the guitarleading the essential � � � � rhythmic movement. Also, the B � pedal note in the intoned refrainis important, as it creates a nice tension that is released by the end of that refrain.

The refrain is scored for three-part choir (melody, lower harmony, soprano descant).Children’s voices are especially effective singing the melody with the assembly, while thechoir sings the harmony. The verses are for soloist(s) and choir. You may want to vary thevoicing to fit your own specific situation.
