臺大過去、現在及未來

國立臺灣大學前身為日據時期之「臺北帝國大學」，創立於 1928年。二次大戰後，中華民

國政府接收「臺北帝國大學」，重組後於1945年改名為「國立臺灣大學」。

本校目前已發展有11個學院、54個學系、103個研究所，包括98個碩士班及93個博士班。

截至2009年，本校包括進修推廣部的學生總人數已達33,393人。學士、碩士、博士班學生

比例約為 4:2:1。教師總人數有3,676人，其中1,051位為全職正教授。校園內的外籍生超過

2,600位，來自全世界60多個國家。

為提升本校國際競爭力，本校正積極增加外國學生及教師人數，與世界一流大學締結姊妹

校關係，並拓展實質合作計畫，如交換學生計畫、雙學位計畫，交換教授計畫等。

NTU Past, Present and Future

National Taiwan University (NTU) was f ounded by the Japanese in 1928 as

Taihok u (Taipei) Imperial University. Af ter World War II, the ROC government

resumed the administration of Taihok u Imperial University, reorganized it and

renamed it "National Taiwan University" in 1945.

Currently, the university has 11 colleges, 54 undergraduate departments, and

103 graduate institutes off ering 98 Master and 93 PhD programs. The number

of students reached a total of 33,393 in 2009, including those f rom the division

of Continuing Education & Prof essional Development. The ratio of students

registering f or Bachelor's, Master's and PhD programs is 4:2:1. The total number

of f aculty members is 3,676, among them, 1,051 are f ull-time prof essors. There

are over 2,600 international students, coming f rom more than 60 diff erent

countries all over the world.

In order to promote international competitiveness, NTU is actively expanding

its international intak e, extending more partnerships with top universities in

the world, and increasing cooperation in the areas of student exchange, f aculty

exchange, and dual degree programs.

究中心和臺灣大學的一級研究單位。透過參與指導教授所執行的研究計畫，學生也有機會

Academics

The 11 colleges of the university are: College of Liberal Arts, College of Science,

臺大校地

本校校地廣闊，使用及管理的土地面積約占臺灣的百分之一，主要分布在羅斯福路四段一

號公館校總區、另有徐州路法律學院校區、仁愛路醫學院校區與附設醫院區、臺北縣安坑

之農業試驗場實驗用地及南投縣之實驗林與山地農場、宜蘭校區、新竹校區及雲林校區

等。其中公館校總區、醫學院區、法律學院區位於臺北市內，為主要教學區，其餘校區則

以研究與實習為主。以下就校總區主要設施作簡單介紹：

Campus Location and Area

The total area of NTU is about 1% of

the total territory of Taiwan. It is mainly

distributed between the Main Campus

in Gong-guan, Taipei, the College of

Law Campus on Hsu-chou Road, the

College o f Medicine Campus and the

afliated NTU hospital on Jen-ai Road,

the Experimenta l Farm at An-k eng,

the Experimental Forest and Highland

Farm at Nan-tou, the Yi- lan Campus,

the Hsin-chu Campus, and the Yun-

lin Campus. Among them, the Main

Campus, Law Campus, and Medicine

C a m p u s a r e t h e m a i n t e a c h i n g

campuses located in the center of

Tai pe i ci ty. Th e res t are mai nly f or

research and experiment purposes.

總圖書館

每一個校區都有自己的圖書館，總藏書量約

三百萬冊。總圖書館之館藏包括各類領域之

圖書、期刊、小冊子、古籍及視聽資料。例

如期刊有二萬六千餘種、報紙近一百餘種、

電子資源三萬多冊 /種；此外，本館收藏中

外文古籍逾五萬冊。本校總圖書館為國內收

藏量最多的圖書館。

本館亦被指定為我國政府出版品寄存圖書館之一，並與超過六十個國家、二千個學術及研

究機構維持出版品之交換贈送關係。

Main Library

There are several libraries on diff erent

campuses with a total co llection of

3 million volumes. The Main Library provides book s, periodicals, pamphlets,

ancient book s and audiovisual materials in a wide range of elds. For example,

there are about 26,000 k inds of periodicals, more than 100 newspapers f rom

all over the world and more than 30,000 electronic materials. The volumes of ancient and rare book s amount to 50,000. At present, the Main Library owns the

largest collection in Taiwan.

The Main Library has been designated as one of the off icial repositories

of government publ ications and it maintains a greements to exchange

publications with over 2,000 academic and research institutions in over 60

countries.

體育館

館內設有各式現代化設備，如主球場、多功能球場、溫水游泳池、健身房、桌球室、壁球

室、技擊室、舞蹈教室、韻律體操室、柔道室、國際會議廳等，可以滿足學生各種不同的

運動興趣與需求。

計算機及網路資訊中心

計資中心主要提供學生電子郵件申請、電腦課程以及遠距教學教室。此外，計資中心亦負

責全校網路建置，包括建立臺大校園網路與無線上網服務、宿舍網路、臺灣學術網路、臺

灣研究網路、臺大伺服器、臺大網路新聞、寬頻、虛擬私人網路及撥接網路等。

校外環境

臺北－臺灣的首都，主要由淡水河及基隆河環繞流過，交通上亦擁有密集的公路網、鐵路

網以及便捷的大眾捷運系統。不管往哪個地區均非常方便。在自然景觀方面，臺北市區北

部即擁有一座國家公園－陽明山國家公園 (車程約1小時)，臺北市提供了她的居民兼具文明

便利與大自然輕鬆的氛圍。

Computer and Inf ormation Network ing Center (C&INC)

The C& INC off ers services including E-mail account application, Webmai l

maintenance, computer courses, and classrooms f or distance education. The

center is also in charge of the entire campus network , including the dormitory

network , wireless network , TANet /I1, Tanet2 /I2, NTU Proxy, NTU Net News, ADSL,

VPN and Dial-up network connection.

Off -campus Environment

Taipei city is surro unded by the Tanshui

and Keelun g R ivers. There are highly

concentrated highway and ra i lw ay

network s, and a convenient Mass Rapid

Tr an si t Sy st em (MR T ). NT U is ea si ly

accessible f rom all corners of the city. The

f amous Yangmingshan National Park in northern Taipei is about one hour away

by car. Taipei off ers its inhabitants the convenience of metropolitan civilization

as well as the relaxed atmosphere of nature.

Sports Center

The Sports Center is equipped with

various modern f acilities, such as

a main court, a general court, an

indoor swimming poo l, a gym, a

table tennis room, a squash court,

a martial arts room, a dance room,

an aerobic room, a judo room and

an international conf erence hall.

教學方式

大學部主要以講課為主。學生若要獲得學分則有下列幾種方式：小組討論、簡報、讀書報

告及考試。攻讀大學學位不需撰寫畢業論文。

研究所的主要授課方式為專題討論、小組討論、研究、專題研究以及實習。研究生必須撰

寫畢業論文以取得學位。對研究生而言，指導教授的選擇非常重要，因此我們建議研究生

在申請之前，先詢問欲申請系所，以了解是否有合適的老師可擔任其指導教授。

學年度

每學年有兩個學期。上學期為9月中至

1月中，下學期為2月中至6月底。學期

間的間斷時期為寒暑假。

修業年限

除了獸醫系是5-7年之外，其於大學部

科系修業年限為4-6年。碩士班修業年

限則以1-4年為限；博士班是2-7年。

Academic Year

There are two semesters in an academic year. The rst one begins in the middle

of September and ends in the middle o f January; the second one is f rom the

middle of February to the end of June. There are summer and winter vacations

between the two semesters.

Program Duration

Except f or program of Veterinary Medicine, which requires 5-7 years, other

undergraduate programs must be completed within 4-6 years. Master's

programs must be completed within 1-4 years and PhD programs within 2-7

years.

Teaching Methods

Most undergraduate programs are lecture courses. Coursework includes group

discussions, presentations, study papers and exams. No thesis writing is required

f or the bachelor's degree.

Graduate programs are mainly conducted in seminars, group discussions,

research and praxis. Graduate students are required to write a thesis or

dissertation as partial f ulllment to complete the degree. A supervisor is very

important to graduate students; thus, graduate program applicants are strongly

advised to consult the intended institute f or suitable supervisors bef ore

applying f or admission.

語言要求

大部分學士班課程皆以中文授課，申請人應具備中文聽、說、讀、寫能力。針對學士班錄

取生，學校在註冊前會舉行中文檢定測驗。未通過測驗者必須額外進修一學年的中文課，

Language Requirement

Most of the undergraduate courses are instructed in Chinese. Applicants shouldhave su ff icient listening, speak ing, reading and writing ability in the Chineselanguage.

Non-Chinese Speak ers should be reminded that while English is a popularlanguage in Taiwan and is used by many of teachers as the langua ge of instruction, Taiwan is primarily a bastion of Chinese culture and Mandarin is theundisputed Lingua franca.Please do not expect a wide range of course across all disciplines taught in English.

臺灣大學有二個語文中心提供有意進修中文之人士。有興趣者請自行向語文中心申請入

2. 國際華語研習所 (ICLP)

國際華語研習所為一專為有志研習中文人士所設

The International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) is an intensive total

immersion program tailored to meet the needs of the serious Chinese learner.

ICLP off ers courses in a wide range of prof essional and practical sub jects both

in traditional and in simplied Chinese. ICLP operates only small classes of 1 to

4 students each and runs on a quarterly system. The 32-week Academic Year

program spans 3 quarters f rom September to June, while the 8-week Summer

Quarter begins in June and ends in August.

學分抵免

申請人入學前所修之學分，經申請並由就讀學系

審核通過後，將准予抵免。

學士班部分，抵免學分總數至多為50學分，如經

核准抵免學分數達50 學分者，得申請編入二年

級，且最高以編入二年級為限。

研究所部分，抵免學分總數以就讀研究所規定應

修畢業學分數二分之一為限。

學分抵免可於錄取後依程序申請。

Credit Transf er

The credits gained in prior college or university courses can be transf erred by

application with approval f rom the department / institute of intended major.

Undergraduate credits may be transf erred up to a maximum of 50 credits in

total. If the transf erable credits exceed 50 credits, the applicant may apply to be

admitted into the sophomore year, but no higher.

Graduate credits can be transf erred up to half of the total credits f or graduation

required by the graduate institute. Credit transf er application should f ollow the

standard procedure af ter admission.

住宿

本校外籍學位生皆可申請宿舍，惟本校無法為夫妻或家庭安排住宿。

太子BOT學舍—長興學生宿舍、水源學生宿舍：

太子建設公司與本校合作，提供 BOT學生宿舍，共有長興、水源兩地區之宿舍，均鄰近學

校校園，由學校安排宿舍地區。單人房每人每月約新台幣7,100元（約美金220元），雙人

房每人每月約新台幣4,700元（約美金150元）。房租費用包括網路及水費，不含電費，電

話費，及有線電視費。

房間內設備有獨立衛浴、床（不含床墊）、書桌椅、書架、衣櫥、冰箱、冷氣、 24小時熱

水、有線電視出口、網路、電話出口。

各棟宿舍一樓設置有會客室、用餐區、24小時服務中心櫃檯。地下室則有的自行車停車

Accommodation is provided by Prince Corp. in cooperation with NTU. There are

two dormitories: Chang Hsin Dormitory and Shui Yuan Dormitory. The rent f or

a single room is about NT$7,100 (US$220) per person per month, and a doubleroom is about NT$4,700 (US$150) per person per month. Winter and summer

break s are not f ree of charge. Internet and water are included in the rent, while

electricity, telephone, and cable T V bills are separated. Facilities in the room

include independent bathroom, bed (without mattress), table, book shelf , closet,

ref rigerator, air conditioning, 24-hour hot water, cable TV output, internet, and

telephone output.

There a re spac ious communal living areas, the dorm is serviced by a 24 hour

manned receptions, meeting rooms in 1F lobby. Bik e storage and spacious

car park ing area (at an additional cost) is at basement level. Sports f acilities in

building, separate male and f emale laundry rooms are located at basementlevel also.

Part-Time Job Opportunities

Af ter studying at NTU f or two semesters or at a language program f or one year,

international students with an excellent academic perf ormance can work in

Taiwan. A work permit is required f or both on- and off -campus jobs. With the

exception of summer and winter vacations, students with a work permit may

work up to 16 hours a week while the work permit is valid. Foreigners work ing

in Taiwan are required to le an income tax in May annually.

申請資格 Quali cation

The applicant must qualify for legal student status pursuant to

Article Two of the Ministry of Education's "Regulat ions

Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in

Taiwan" of February 1, 2011.

Violation of the “MOE Regulation” will result in immediate

cancellation of the applicant’s admission or the depriva-

tion of the applicant’s recognized status as NTU regis-tered student, or revocation of applicant’s NTU diploma.

No academic certificate will be given.

International students with a high school diploma are eligible

to apply for undergraduate studies at NTU; Bachelor’s degree

for Master’s programs; Master’s degree for PhD programs.

18. Priority list (if applicable)

One can apply f or a maximum of 3 departments / institutes at the same time.

In this case, please DUPLICATE the whole application pack age, including

the application f ee. And a Priority List must be submitted. The f orm will be

generated af ter lling in the on-line application f orm.

Notes:

1. As f or the translation, it is required to have the translation verif ied by an

authorized organization (such as the TOM (Taiwan Overseas Mission) in the

applicant's country or a translation agency). To sum up, one needs to prepare“ Two original documents” and “ Two original veried translations”.

2. If the original documents are required, it is recommended to submit them. If

the admission result is influenced by not submitting the required documents,

it is applicant's own responsibility.

1. 關於翻譯文件，申請生可自行翻譯，但須經驗證（可以是駐外代表處或是登記在案之

翻譯社）。意即申請生需要準備兩份原文文件以及兩份經驗證的正式翻譯文件。
