Tips for the Interview Do your homework - research the organization. No experience necessary! Training is provided! Detasselers can be as young as 13 at time of detasseling. Detasseling season generally starts after the 4th of July and lasts 3-4 weeks. We provide transportation to and from the fields from a variety of pick-up sites around the city.  We have safe crews, well-trained leaders, and pay competitive wages.  Reliability and a strong work ethic is a must.
