Concept of “Place of permanent residence” is clarified – as a geographical place where a person normally spends the daily rest; considered for a period of time including the time of the census
Enumerated population categories – resident population. Countries due to their needs account other categories, like present population.
Problems with accounting of certain population groups:
Second and third level students;
Rotation workers;
Persons in compulsory military service - ? (ex p.162 f).

Students-workers Persons who study and work at the same time will be allocated to the pertinent country/geographic division according to the rules for students or workers depending on which one between work and study is considered the main activity.

Concepts of urban and rural areas (p.38). Main criteria – size of populationRecommended for international comparisons: Urban areas – population more than 2000; Rural areas– population less than 2000.
Some countries will wish to use other criteria for inclusion in urban areas.
