Sample A
I feel sad. I’m surrounded by people on the
outside but I still feel alone on the inside.
Sample B
Wandering with a masked soul,
my heart is empty yet filled with sorrow
These feet mimics the cries of mercy
Darkness, come to me; Darkness, get away
from me; Darkness you’re all I see.

What does your mom say when…
▪ you play too much computer/video games?
▪ you spend too much time on the internet?
▪ How do you feel about it?
When you were younger, who were you closer to? Mom or dad?
▪ Who do you go to when you’re hungry?
▪ When you get hurt while playing?
▪ When you get scared?

My Mother
I have the finest mother
That any boy could have;
She cleanses all my scratches,
And binds them up with salve
![Page 22: Interpreting Mood of a Poem](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022020307/55a64f161a28ab263f8b45fe/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
She fixes all my clothes,
And doesn’t mind at all
If I’ve torn my shirt
Or outgrown it 'cause I’m tall.
![Page 23: Interpreting Mood of a Poem](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022020307/55a64f161a28ab263f8b45fe/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
She helps me with my lessons,
And takes the greatest pain
To be sure I understand them,
And my interest doesn't wane.
![Page 24: Interpreting Mood of a Poem](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022020307/55a64f161a28ab263f8b45fe/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
She welcomes all my friends,
And lets us use her stuff;
Poppin’ corn and makin' candy,
Till we've had enough.
![Page 25: Interpreting Mood of a Poem](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022020307/55a64f161a28ab263f8b45fe/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
She teaches me of God,
And helps me understand
The way to live;
To gain a home in heaven's land.

No, I wouldn't trade my mother
For all the jewels on earth;
'Cause there is no way to tell,
What an awful lot she's worth.
