Slotted Bases Use 1/2” flat reed spokes with these beautiful oak slot-ted bases. NOTE: Each basket makes a basket that is 2” larger than the base. For example, a 3x5” base will work up to be a 5 x 7” basket. 5” round makes a 7” basket.

Slotted Base Tip: Don’t soak your spokes longer than 5 minutes or they’ll swell up too thick to tuck into the base. We cut spokes and drop into water as we cut. After cutting all of the spokes for the basket, remove from water 1 at a time and insert into base immediately. Perfect timing!
