• Don’t be “friends” with people you don’t know in the real world
• Don’t use a real photo of yourself• Be careful about any personal information

• Ensure you have up-to-date anti-virus software
• Be wary of opening emails from unknown senders
• Beware of scam emails• Never open attachments
from unknown senders

known companies• Look for the https in
the address bar• Look for the padlock• Do not give your
bank details without seeing these signs

Internet Café Safety• If you’re using your own laptop use a Firewall• Be aware of people looking over your shoulder –
they could steal your user name and password• When logging into email or Facebook - don’t tick
the 'save password' or 'remember me' boxes• Log out, log off• Delete your browsing history before you leave
