• Lower Saxony was the first state to use the PICA system in Germany

• Today seven states belong to the GBV (Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund – Joint Library Network): Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania), Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxony-Anhalt), Schleswig-Holstein, Thüringen (Thuringia)

• University Library of Göttingen was partner of the Webdoc project (1995-1998) cataloging electronic resources which are stored on our own server in Göttingen

• Special cataloging rules for this project
