THE CONVENE

INTRODUCTIONAfter successful launches on the east coast, west coast and in London, the second annual Managing Intellectual Property InternationalWomen’s Leadership Forum returns to New York on June 4 2015. Itwill focus on US and global IP developments, and will provide anopportunity for women in IP to hear the latest thoughts from seniorleaders on subjects such as: litigation; protecting your patents;challenges in the IP industry; copyright; and trademarks.

The intellectual property landscape is changing with significant legaldevelopments across the globe. The current and future state of patentlaw following the America Invents Act has been a source of muchdebate. How useful and effective have the inter partes reviewproceedings been? Meanwhile the date for patent reform in Europemoving ahead is getting closer. What can we expect from the UnitaryPatent and Unified Patent Court (UPC)?

The debate around patent reform after the Alice Corp v CLS Bankdecision, is still impacting decision-making one year later. Is protectingyour patent still as valuable? In copyright, digital liability is stilldominating and copyright legislation may soon be changing.

The event will also examine the importance of leadership, networkingand business development. It will feature leading general counsel andIP counsel who will share their own personal work experiences andcareer progression.

This event welcomes associates, senior associates and partners inprivate practice; as well as legal counsel, senior legal counsel andgeneral counsel. It is a development opportunity for the nextgeneration of women leaders. The aim is to provide an inclusivedebate around building the talent pipeline as well as discussing thelatest developments in IP.
