Dear Ladies,

The holidays frenzy is over, and life has gradually retuned to 'normal'. Here in Croatia, autumn is coming up, the leaves are starting to glow in the forests and soon the plants will begin shedding those colorful leaves. If you can, spare a moment this month to watch the radiant colored leaves as the gentle breeze swirl them around and then carefully drops them in the large earth canvas creating the most awesome and priceless paintings across the landscape.

We have started in earnest with preparation for our popular annual Christmas Bazaar which will be held on Sunday 3rd of December 2017. I am happy to announce that Her Excellency President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović has con�rmed her patronage for this year's bazaar. Our board has �nalized the selection of bene�ciaries according to the norm set forth in our statute. We decided to support four organizations this year because of the number of requests that came in. This way IWCZ will make a wider and consequently meaningful impact with the revenue to be generated from this year's bazaar.

Representatives of the four organizations will join us in the next General Meeting, you will have the chance to listen to the presentation we received from them and also to interact with them. They are open to answer questions on all issues relating to their charitable works and how they intend to expend the donation they hope to receive from our Club. Our members participation is paramount to the success of the Christmas bazaar, sign up sheets for volunteers and donation letters will be available at the General meeting, we urge you to support this worthy cause in any way you can.

Traditionally autumn is characterize with harvests, and in reminiscence of harvest festivals (folklore, religious thanksgiving) we are happy to welcome Mrs. Irena Sertić to IWCZ October General Meeting. She will delight us with her performance of oriental belly dance which is a type of folk dance originating from the Middle East.

In line with the feedbacks we receive from IWCZ members, the board is looking for volunteers to lead new activi-ties and workshops. Contact us if you have special skills you wish to share with us and together we shall work out implementation details. This month we are introducing the music groups for Adults and Children, other new groups will be announced once all logistics are in place. Join our social/informative activities and events as a way to connect with like minded ladies.

OCTOBER GENERAL MEETING

We dance to fall in love with the spirit in all things, to seek refuge in our originality and our power to reinvent ourselves; to shed the past, forget the future and fall into the moment-- feet �rst. Each of us is a moving vibration in a space of divine mystery, longing to connect to this space within, to break through to bliss, to be swept away into something bigger than us.

Dance is the fastest, most direct route to the personal truth--the what’s-happening-in-me-right-now kind of truth. We dance to reclaim our fabulous ability to disappear in something bigger, to shatter the borders between body, heart and mind to a safe space without a critic or a judge. The quickest path to a joyful heart is to dance, dance, dance!

Born in Karlovac and now lives and works in Zagreb. She loved dancing and singing at a very early age and danced in the folklore group for 6 years. During her schooling years she also studied rhythm and aerobics and was enrolled in oriental dance classes in Zuzana Uhlirova school until 2010. It was this schooling that ignited a passion, love and fascina-tion with this dance.

A�er the �rst year of dancing, she signed up for the Miss Oriente 2011 competition and entered the �nals as one of the 12 �nalists. During the years of dance she learned from many famous dancers and artists, both from Croatia and from around the world: Lubna and Osama Eman (Egypt), Yasmina Ramzy (Canada), Ahmed Fekry (Egypt), Leila Oriental (Serbia), Daria Mitskevich (Ukraine), Azad Kaan (Turkey), Vjekoslav Didović (Croatia), Karim Nagi (Egypt), Marina Oga-nyan (Russia), Wael Mansour (Egypt /Italy).

24th Annual Christmas Bazaar International Women's Club Zagreb (IWCZ)

We have pleasure to announce that IWCZ's much awaited Charity Christmas Bazaar will be held on Sunday 3rd December 2017.

For the success of this event we depend entirely on the collaboration, support and generosity of our Members and the Foreign Community in Zagreb. Embassies and Country Associations are the success of the Christmas Bazaar and the main appeal to the public.

Last year the Bazaar attracted over 7.000 visitors and the total money raised was 400.000,00 Kuna with the participation of over 50 countries. This year IWCZ has chosen four bene�ciaries:

Which cover, drug & alcohol rehabilitation, support for breast cancer patients, education & rehabilitation o�he blind, and help for families with alzheimer & palliative patients. These are NGO's which contribute enormously to the society and are in constant need of funds to assist in the functioning of their organisation.

The time has come to start the preparations for this years IWCZ Christmas Bazaar and we kindly ask Members to volunteer to be part of the Christmas Bazaar team. This can be done by signing up at the October GM or by sending an email to [email protected] There are many roles to be �lled and the more volunteers the more success-ful the event will be! Volunteers are needed as part of the organisation team and also to work on the preparations for the event at the pavi-lion on Friday 1st / Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December.

Additionally we ask all Members to please help with donations. Items are needed for:

Second hand clothes (in good condition; washed and ironed please)

Second hand books and toys

Wine donations for the Wine Corner

A day in the woods picking porcini mushrooms. This is a spur of the moment o�ering based on porcini mushrooms springing up in the forests a�er a two year absence! The woods near my house are full of porcini mushrooms and they are great for drying or freezing to use later. This will be a car pooling outing and we will go with any amount of people.If you are interested, please email [email protected] and the date and time will be emailed to you along with a fabulous Cream of Mushroom soup recipe!

We will be visiting a lovely lady that is already well known to our IWCZ ladies. She is specialized in making wonderful meals based on mushrooms. Also, for those who love mushrooms will be able to buy it from her at the spot. Her name is Ljubica Lauš.

Designed for parents and their babies/children to take together, these weekly classes help you learn how to play musically with your baby or child.Each class features bouncing and rocking songs, moving and dancing, focused listening, body awareness and control, peek-a-boo games, playing on simple instruments such as rhythm sticks, rattles or drums and other fun activities for the two of you.

Our dear board member Minerva hosted a private charity event at her residence. Thanks Minerva for inviting our members, we had fun while supporting your charitab-le cause.

FASHION TOURWe started our FASHION TOUR with Mrs Jadranka Olivari Jirasek, alias olivastyleb-log.com, by Heraldi. There we had opportunity to enjoy autumn collection of beauti-ful coats and dresses.

Some of us had fun to try on some attractive peaces and others were happy to have a glass of Champagne. Patricia was our mannequin and Mrs Jirasek found a beautiful city combination for her. The next stop we had by "Love Mia" and nice winter coats. Kacinari jewelry and Seventy in Oktogon were our last destinations because our need for co�ee was much stronger than desire for fashion.
