The water-energy nexusWater and energy are intricately linked ndash generating energy requires water and producing water uses energy The nexus between water and energy is an issue that world leaders are increasingly moving to the top of their agendas and no less so during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week
The UAE provides a strong example of the water-energy nexus in arid regions More than 70 per cent of the nationrsquos water production transportation and processing costs are in energy With the great global minds of energy and water together at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week wersquoll be taking the opportunity to bring the water-energy nexus to life in a resource-scarce region
