Background

Artists around Australia and the globe are invited to showcase their upcycling skills and creativity as part of an Australian-first exhibition to celebrate the launch of acclaimed sustainability book Retrash and Earth Day’s 45th anniversary.

Reart2015 is being curated by Retrash author Nathan Devine, supported by Etsy, the online marketplace for vintage and handmade goods, to celebrate the art of upcycling and aims to inspire the world to reconsider the idea of waste.

Up to 40 artworks will be selected by judges Nathan Devine (Retrash author and Reart convenor), Helen Souness (Managing Director, Etsy Australia and Asia) and Dimity Mullane (Public Programs Manager, The Lewers Gallery) for the inaugural Reart exhibition at the m2 Gallery in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

Reart provides a platform to showcase the latest in upcycling innovation from artists and designers around the world, giving insight and inspiration into the possibilities of a more sustainable and connected planet.Nathan Devine, Reart Founder
