The Therapy of Goodness

Spiritism proves that we are all immortal Spirits

temporarily incarnated in a constant process of evolution

and that we are responsible for the physical body which

Divine Providence provides for us so we should preserve it

and keep it in good health

Medicine adopts preventive and therapeutic

procedures for many diseases and disorders while

Spiritism recommends doing good in interpersonal and

social relationships as one of the processes for balancing

the health of the physical body and without doubt also for

our spiritual health

Allan Kardec supports the maxim Without Charity

there is no salvation Evidently meaning charity as more

amply explained ever since the arrival of The Spiritsrsquo Book

(see question 886) The practice of charity in its broadest

sense apart from the peace of mind it provides also

generates a good physical disposition and good health just

as much for the receiver as for the one who practices it

Spiritism and Medicine Spirit and body if we take

care of basic sanitation of our thoughts and feelings if we

vaccinate ourselves against slander and other behavioural

addictions if we feed ourselves with pure and noble ideas

and emotions and if we practice providing good service to

our neighbours putting into practice Love one another as

recommended by the Gospel then we are practising the

therapy of goodness with real benefits for material moral

and spiritual health of the human being and Humanity as a

whole

The Coordination Department of the International Spiritist Council for Central America together with Panama Mexico and the Caribbean along with the Cadena Heliosoacutephica Guatemalteca held the VII Central-American Spiritist Congress on 26th April in Cuilco Huehuetenango The theme was Childhood and Spiritist Youth with the participation of the Spiritist Federation of el Salvador and sisters from Honduras Over 900 people attended the lectures

The event was a success with the juvenile evangelisation of 600 children and delivery of school materials toys and winter clothing as well as medical assistance The joint committees of the Cadena also collected and delivered books that had been printed by FEB for the Evangelisation of Children and Youth for 10 Spiritist schools

In June Guatemala received the President of FEB Cesar Perri de Carvalho and his wife Celia Rey de Carvalho who held lectures and participated in the 2nd National Spiritist Congress ndash 28

June whose theme was The Moral Education of Children and Youth The Congress also had speakers from Cuba El Salvador Honduras and Mexico

25th-27th April 2014 - Krakow (Poland) Ist European Event on Spiritist Philosophy From 25th ndash 27th April 2014 the First Spiritist Philosophy Meeting held entirely in English took place in Krakow Poland The objective was to meet the locals who do not understand Portuguese or Spanish There were many Polish participants as well as a number of people from Finland England Ireland and France Despite being the first meeting of this kind we had about 30 participants all together Organisers Pekka Stevan Konrad and Charles Kempf As part of the programme there was a lecure on Mediumship by Silvia Gibbons - UK on the Saturday evening Charles Kempf gave a talk on the Ethical Foundations of Spiritism to a large and very interested audience Charles Kempf and Elsa Rossi represented the International Spiritist Council

20th June the EEC-Europe Education Committee held a Seminar on The Family in London with the presence of two people responsible from the EEC-ISC Europe being Milena Alborghetti Claudia Werdine and Lea Leal from BUSS - Dept of the Family 28th and 29th June 2014 - Training Course for Spiritist Educators by CSEISC-Europe was held in Switzerland

Three days of emotion learning and exchanging experiences This was the result of the

The COMBINED REGIONAL COMMITTEES The day before the beginning of the 4th Brazilian Spiritist Congress (100414 - all day) there were joint meetings of the Regional Areas Committees of the National Federative Council of FEB These were simultaneous North (Manaus) region Northeast region (Joatildeo Pessoa) Central region (Victoria) and South (Campo Grande) always counting on the presence of one of the Vice-Presidentrsquos of FEB with the participation of leaders and teams of collaborators from the State Federations of the regions and support from the general secretariat team of the CFN of FEB The President of FEB took part in the meeting in Manaus In a joint and integrated manner the objectives of these meetings was to provide Analysis of specific topics on actions to support a Spiritist Center reflection on the integrated work of the Regional Commissions Areas of CFN thinking about the base which is the Spiritist Centre allowances for future contributions from the Regional Commissions of the NFC In a great team effort more than 50 facilitators from the four regions took part

The exhibition of the Brazilian Spiritist Federation entitled - FEB 130 years ndash a Pathway of light love and learning - was opened to the public on 17th May at its headquarters in Brasilia Mounted at the

FEB Cultural Center you can follow the 130-year history of the institution whose mission is to offer the Spiritist Teachings to humanity through study practice and dissemination As well as through the solidarity of Spiritists and the unification of Spiritist Institutions all contributing towards the formation of goodly people The Timeline of FEB testimonials history panels tributes original works of the Codification that are part of this history can all be verified The exhibition opened with talks by its President Antonio Cesar Perri de Carvalho and was attended by the Vice-Presidents Directors of FEB and the public together with some musical performances The President paid tribute to Mr Israel Quirino designer of the dependencies of FEB in Brasilia the engineer Quadros Pinheiro the official Luiz Francisco de Morais and the manager Alzira Abreu The exhibition can be visited during this semester

Exhibition about Chico Xavier in Rio de Janeiro

In his opening greetings the President of FEB

made comments alluding to the moment and honoured a former employee Ruacutebia Guimaraes da Costa who had interacted with former presidents of FEB and Chico Xavier There is also an exhibition featuring 35 oil paintings by the artist Napoleon Figueiredo about characters and striking facts in the life of the medium Francisco Cacircndido Xavier (1910-2002) Ocean Vieira de Mello and the director Regina Luacutecia de Souza Barbosa Rodrigues are respectively the curator and the person responsible for the Exhibition The two exhibitions will take place until 10th September Monday to Friday from 1000am to 400pm

Dr Alirio Cerqueira Filho visited Canada for the first time in May 2014

With the support of the Conseil Canadien SpiriteCanadian Spiritist Council (CSC) and the collaboration of the American Spiritist Council Dr Alirio (psychiatrist psychologist and educator specialising in transpersonal psychotherapy) gave seminars and conferences in the cities of Montreal Quebec and Toronto

From 19th ndash 21st May in Montreal he spoke about Psychotherapy according to the Gospel of Jesus at the Spiritist Centre Justice Love and Charity JAC (wwwcentrespiritejacorg) A Spiritual Cure for Depression at the Spiritist Centre Messengers of Light and Peace (wwwcentroluzepazca) and Spiritual Health at the Fraternity Spiritist Centre CESF (wwwcesfca) Then on 22nd and 23rd May Dr Alirio was in the capital of the State of Quebec and spoke at the Spiritist Centre Allan Kardec-Quebec At CEAK in Quebec (wwwceakquebeccom) celebrating its first year at a new address and 8 years of activity Dr Alirio talked about Models of Leadership Work and Self-transformation

In a public lecture with simultaneous translation into French he addressed the subject of Healthy Family Relationships On 24th and 25th May Dr Alirio went to Toronto where he developed two seminars in the Toronto Spiritist Society (TSS) Spiritual Healing for Depression and Existential Health - awakening to the essence of life

Once again we had the joy of receiving Divaldo Franco in France during his yearly trip he makes to Europe From 2nd ndash 5th June he visited three cities the first one being Douai where he was received by members of Centres in the region of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais where he dealt with the topic of Universal Love Speaking before an audience composed almost entirely of French people Divaldo distributed so much love we all left excited and filled with this universal love The next day in Paris in the totally crowed Lisbon Room of the FIAP-Jean Monnet building Divaldo talked about the Psychology of Forgiveness telling the story of Simon Wiesenthal who did not want to forgive the Nazi executioner He then made a parallel with the Sermon on the Mount in which Jesus taught us to practice universal forgiveness Finally to close his visit through France Divaldo went to Orly to talk about Love and Jesus narrating the story of Mary Magdalene who after her encounter with Jesus totally changed her trajectory Still full of vitality at 87 Divaldo is the living example that happiness is synonymous with health

Prudence

Let us be calm This is a reminder from our Spiritual Instructors

The transition recommends prudence

The country of the Southern Cross with the responsibility to represent fraternity on Earth stands before the eyes of the world that takes advantage of the games to rediscover Brazil

We now place ourselves at the disposal of the Benefactors to ask for blessings for our people for our country and for our native homeland We notice the care taken by Noble Spirits who represent the parents of the country in looking after the balance prudence and order

The Benefactors recommend that we be prudent We must calm down rather than rush be patient rather than having major concerns pray rather than be afraid

Our Superior Friends ask that on these days we get into the habit of starting the day by praying for our country visualising peace in our homeland during the daytime before sleeping praying for the balance of our country because the noble spiritual world looking after us can surely create conditions of defence so that events may occur with balance so that order is not defeated by disorder so that prudence may lead us with balance into achieving the process of necessary changes

Unfortunate brothers and sisters who are used to commotion and disorder in the lower spiritual world yet work in an organised way also want to take advantage of this event so as to call the attention of the world in order to demoralise the great programme of Jesus for Brazil

This is the reason why on their behalf we want to ask our colleagues to adopt the habit of praying for peace

We will certainly have serious concerns that will require from us and from our prayers a testimony of balance so that if the forces of evil find room in others they will not find it in ourselves

Spiritists that know such events and the action of these unfortunate creatures who are nevertheless our brothers and sisters should be aware that we represent links of the great chain of Kindness which protects the great programme the Christ of God has placed in the hands of the Brazilian people

Therefore my brothers and sisters let us be alert let us not be the ones who multiply bad information and news but remain serene and calm Let us link in with our Benefactors at this important time so that we can convey to the whole world and our good people the expectation of an environment of peace from an orderly and generous community who are above all Christian

By praying together we will be linking in to the living forces of goodness that emanate from our Masterrsquos heart the Christ of God We will be offering these forces to our incarnate leaders the men and women directing Brazil who have the encumbrance to oversee its political economic and social balance so that the events that may occur do not disturb the majority of the nation and that the programme of Christ be made greater than the disruptions so that in general all of us may contribute to peace

Let us remain calm confident vigilant and praying thus delivering ourselves into the most holy hands of Jesus of Nazareth

The Angel Ismael here at the Brazilian Spiritist Federation has organised an intensive work programme with the Spirits that represent the Spiritual Leaders of Brazil in order to establish at strategic points in Brasilia and other major cities in the country the necessary defence strategies for vigilance so that order may not be disturbed

Let us not fear let us be confident and alert

The political times the planet is now experiencing are certainly having an impact on Brazil and as it is representing the focus of the world in these days it is important for us to be here at our headquarters offering the best vibrational environment of spiritual beauty so that the Angel Ismael helped by Noble Spirits may fulfil the programme of Jesus The times recommend caution as we said earlier but also care
