Intra EU trade is approx. 53.000 tons
Imports from outside EU is much larger, at 156.000 tons and growing by approx. 4%
• The major players are India +9%, China + 14%, Turkey +1%, Vietnam -7% and Asian countries in general.
• Vietnam loosing share in spite of the lowest prices € 1,34/kg
• Turkey keeping market share and remains the second largest supplier to EU at much higher price levels than Asia.
• China and India would have a big potential to increase the market share, if the supplied quality could match Turkey.

Conclusion
© StarlingerArnold Sillipp, 08.04.2010
International Seminar on Bulk Packaging / Hyderabad
• FIBC is an export market, which requires top quality product. First class machines are required to compete in this quality oriented market.
• High tenacity tape line to be able to reduce denier by maintaining the fabric strength.
• Efficient high speed circular looms with perfect fabric quality is required. It is necessary to reduce the loss of strength caused by the weaving process.
• Reduce production waste. FIBC fabric is heavy, has a long cutting length –therefore every weaving fault results in expensive waste.
• Therefore most high end FIBC manufacturers are using Starlinger Machines, in order to stay competitive in the FIBC market.
