University of California Exchange

• Exchange agreement between NUI Galway and University of California (9 campuses)

• Funding for 4 to 5 students for 2007/2008• Financial assistance available towards costs of travel,

Norwegian Government Scholarship Pool

• Govt. of Norway offering pool of scholarships for advanced students and young researchers from around the world

• Open to all areas of study and research in academic fields

• Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent and be 40 years of age or under

• Scholarship will cover a temporary stay for academic year

Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation Programme

• In 1995 the Foundation established an annual programme of research grants and educational scholarships

• Fields of study – humanities, political sciences, law, economics, architecture,arts

• The grants and scholarships cover scholarly research, post-educational training in the teaching of the Greek language and culture and/or artistic creation in Greece only and in the fields above

• The grants and scholarships include research, artistic work, further education and post-graduate studies in Greece.

Irish Fulbright Commission Awards 2007-08

• The annual Scholar Awards Programme enables post-doctoral scholars and established leaders of professional, academic and artistic excellence to undertake advanced research / lecturing at a recognised US institution.

• Applicants must be in a position to outline a clearly defined programme and must obtain their own placements in the US

• Grants of up to €10,000 will be awarded and applications are invited from candidates in any academic discipline.

The O’Reilly Foundation Scholarship

• The O'Reilly Foundation supports a programme of scholarships to provide world-class educational opportunities for young Irish scholars

• preference will be given to those planning their doctoral studies in the following academic areas: business studies, law, marketing, media studies, science, technology, arts

• The Scholarship Programme aims to award two scholarships, to commence in academic year 2007/2008

• The award will be of the order of EUR€25,400 per annum per scholar
