Events – Winter Tour 2014
11 September 2014 32
The NZ Chapter has an obligation to reach our members, not just in the main centres but to the heartland of New Zealand.
For the last 2 years our “Winter Tour” has allowed us to reach out and not just talk about the benefits of IIBA, but deliver them and also, introduce new centres to the possibilities of hosting their own events with the IIBA support.
This year in Aug we went to
– Palmerston North (21st Aug - hosted by FMG),
– New Plymouth (26th Aug hosted by Powerco), and
– Tauranga (29th Aug at Trinity Wharf)

Wellington Events
11 September 2014 34
• Since last AGM - 9 Open events, 3 Member-only events.
• To date we have 653 awesome Welly members of our Meetup group.
• Member-only meetings always book out quickly (over 80 people registered for the next one).
• We often have over 100 people registering for open events.
• Highlights: International speakers Penny Pullan (Making Projects Work) and Roxanne Miller (Requirements Quest) - special thanks to our founding sponsor Redvespa for making that possible – and the “Who Killed Santa?” improvised murder mystery Xmas play.
• Factoid: Due to Welly earthquakes, our normal venue Spectrum Theatre was closed down with only one month's notice! Thanks to colleagues at Agile Welly, we are now using the Adam Auditorium at the City Art Gallery for open meetings and some members-only meetings, and our sponsors are helping with other meetings.
• A huge thanks to our band of dedicated Event Committee members – Jane Sinett, Ellan Young and Christina Porter – you ladies rock!
If anyone is keen to join the Events Committee or make a presentation to the Welly BA community, please get in touch with us via Meetup.
