How to get to the hotel Ramada Plaza and the Congress Center:

  

‐ All direct intercontinental flights to Switzerland arrive at Zurich Airport, which is 55 minutes from Basel by train (http://www.sbb.ch). All three Basel railway stations – SBB (Switzerland), SNCF (France) and DB (Germany) – are within 10 minutes of the hotel and the Congress Center.

‐ The following tram line will get you directly from Basel Railway station (SBB (Switzerland), SNCF (France)) to the station ‘Messeplatz’: Line 2 >> Please note: The hotel confirmation is also your tram ticket. Please consider it ready for inspections. German Railway Station (DB (Germany)): Only 5 minutes walk from there to the hotel / Congress Center

‐ When checking in at the hotel Ramada (as well as all other hotels in Basel) you will be provided with a ‘Mobility ticket’, which allows you free use of trams and buses in Basel. You must always have the ticket with you. (http://www.ramada.de/basel)

Wednesday 06 July 2011 – First day of the Symposium

‐ Check-in at the Congress Center (http://www.congress.ch) begins at 8:00 am. Please keep your ID and invoice/business card ready.

‐ Posters: Please mark your poster with the number you received (for example, 5f). Our friendly staff in the Congress Center will help you find your space for the posters after you checked-in. Please also bring your posters as PDF files, so that we can make it available electronically to all participants

‐ The info desk is located at the Congress Center. The symposium crew will be at your disposal during the whole symposium.

Official Symposium Dinner

‐ The dinner starts at 7:30 pm in the Restaurant ‘Löwenzorn’ (http://www.loewenzorn.ch).

‐ All participants meet at 7:00 pm at the Marktplatz (Market Square). These tram lines will bring you directly from the Congress Center (station ‘Messeplatz’) to the station ‘Marktplatz’: Line 6, 14 and 15. The symposium crew will wait for you there, holding blue balloons, and accompany you to the restaurant.

‐ Please do not forget your name badge with the symbol on it. You will get this name badge at the check-in. The symbol shows at which table you are seated.

Thursday 07 July 2011 – Second day of the Symposium

‐ For our next generation: Special event for students, academics, industrials (young adults 20-35); Start 8:00 pm after the manufacturer’s cocktail. Meeting point: At the info desk in the Congress Center. You can register the whole day (Wednesday, 06 July, after the check-in finished ) at the info desk in the Congress Center.

Friday 08 July 2011 – Third day of the Symposium

Novartis Campus Tour

‐ Participants who registered for the ‘Novartis Tour’ meet at 2:00 pm at the Congress Center and will be accompanied to the ‘Novartis Campus’. For safety reasons, the tour will start exactly at 2:30 pm in the Novartis Campus. It is therefore very important that you're on time (2:00 pm) at the meeting point in the Congress Center.

‐ Please do not forget to bring your ID/Passport, otherwise you are not allowed to enter the ‘Novartis Campus’.

City Treasure Hunt

‐ Participants who registered for the ‘City Treasure Hunt’ meet at 2:00 pm at the Congress Center.

Good to know

‐ The HPTLC Symposium ends at 2 pm for all participants who have not signed up for any of these events. Deadline to sign for one of the special events is June 26. (www.amiando.com/hptlc_Symposium_special_events.html)

‐ During the whole symposium a photographer will capture the beautiful moments. We will send these memories to all participants 2-3 weeks after the symposium.

‐ Please note that you cannot bring for free family members, friends or other people to the Congress Center, the official dinner or special events. You need to sign them up until June 26 at [email protected] and pay cash for them at the Congress Center in the morning of July 06! The scientific program is only for registered participants.
