INTERNATIONAL FIELD PLACEMENT: RITINJALI, NEW DELHI TRAVEL DATES: January 30; February 27, 2020 PLACEMENT DATES: February 3 – February 27, 2020 SOCIAL MEDIA: gbc.global George Brown College is offering a four week, for-credit international placement for students in the School of Social and Community Services, School of Early Childhood Education and Sally Horsefall Eaton School of Nursing. Students work with Ritinjali, a non-profit organization focused on community development and social inclusion in the slums in south New Delhi. Students and faculty will gain an intensive and unique, cross-cultural, sector-related learning experience through this program. Ritinjali strives to provide holistic education to marginalized children and youth in New Delhi. They also provide residential programming for urban deprived young adults. This programming includes vocational training, apprenticeship and entrepreneurship development, social skills group counselling and academic upgrading through their partnership with the national Open School system. GBC students will work with Ritinjali staff at learning centres, schools and community-based medical clinics.
