It is with pleasure that we, the Board of the Polish Art Foundation introduce the 9th International Drawing Biennale.
We have received 106 artworks in total, of which, 60 have been selected for the exhibition, some have travelled across the world, with entries from India, Romania, Slovenia and Poland.
It is exciting to see such a diverse range of techniques and forms used.
Participating artists show their drawing skill through exquisite detail and elaborate structures; some show dynamic lines and expressive strokes. There is also a wide range of styles and themes; figurative drawings and abstract art. Some artists look into the future whilst others take their inspiration from the past.
Drawing is the base form for all artists and as artists we all strive to draw more and perfect our skills. No matter whether you are a sculptor, designer or architect, the initial thought process is usually a drawing.
Drawing allows you to notice the details you would not notice otherwise. It allows you to concentrate, meditate or reflect. Maybe if everybody drew more, the world would be a more relaxed and well organised place!
Congratulations to all the prize winners, honorary mention recipients and all finalists.
