Salisbury has a 2 day cycle. The numbers in parentheses indicate whether the course is Day (1) or Day (2) or both days (1-2).
Salisbury features an extended timetable. In addition to blocks one through four found in the traditional school day. Salisbury has an additional block offered after school to accommodate certain specialty classes.
Blocks one through four are 86 minutes long
There are two terms: September through January is term one and February through June is term two
We also have a number of classes which run for a full year and these are indicated by FY.

Alberta Certificate of High School Completion
To receive a certificate of high school completion, a student must have been involved special education programming and be nominated by the principal.
Requirements include:
The nominee has been a student for at least 12 years (and be 17 years of age by March 1st of the current year.The school year in which the nomination is being submitted is the student’s last year of school programming.The student has worked towards goals and programming in an I.P.P., demonstrating special education coding and a significant cognitive delay.The student did not typically achieve credits in any English, Mathematics, Social Studies or Science courses.

What Is A Credit?Each course in High School is given a credit value.A credit is a unit of learning time based on hours of instruction.1 credit is achieved with access to 25 hours of instruction.You must achieve at least 50% in each course to earn the credit(s).
Credits can be achieved in singular units in a CTS course.For example: Food studies 10 has a 1 credit course called
Basic Baking.

What do Course Numbers Mean?
Most course have 3 digits.The first 2 digits generally refers to the year of high school: 10 refers to grade 10, 20 refers to grade 11, or 30 refers to grade 12.The hyphenated number refers to the route of the program.

Course Sequencing
You usually must complete the 10 level courses in a sequence before you go on to the 20 level course. When you complete the 10 and 20 level courses, you can then go on to the 30 level course.

Prerequisites
The course needed to qualify for participation in a particular course is called a prerequisite
For example:
To qualify for placement in English 20-1, you must successfully complete English 10-1. That means 10-1 is the prerequisite for English 20-1.

Passing these courses is usually required to continue on to Grade 11 and 12 courses in that subject
Some of these courses run all year At least 10 credits in these courses are required
for an Alberta High School Diploma Once requested, and time tabled, it may not be
possible to change these requests (staffing is done based on requests)
For many students, these courses provide the backbone of their program in Grades 11 and 12
