International Al Jolson Society, Inc. Audio & Video Departments Since the founding of the Society, we have done our best to provide our members with the finest in Jolson materials. Audio material initially available on cassee tape is now available on CD, often in much beer quality, and with material not previously available. When home videotape became available in the 1980s, efforts were begun to produce videotape copies of Al Jolson’s feature films. As technology has improved, and as more material has become available, we have been able to produce DVD issues of Al Jolson’s films, short subjects, and unique and varied other offerings. This catalog represents a compilation of what is currently available. More detailed information is available on the website. Since the founding of the Society, we have done our best to provide our members with the finest in Jolson materials. The Kraft Music HallFrom October, 1947 through May, 1949, Al Jolson starred on the Kraft Music Hall every Thursday evening, with Oscar Levant at the piano. All of the programs from that series are available on CD. Two programs will fit on one CD, at a cost of $15 / £9.

Jolson DVDsFeature Movies

Al Jolson had starring roles in eleven feature motion pictures. Two of those, The Jazz Singer and Hallelujah, I’m A Bum, have excellent commercial releases, and there are links on the IAJS website to purchase those from Amazon.com. The remainder are available from the IAJS, in beautifully restored DVD editions, often with extra features. The available titles are:

IAJS FestivalsThere are DVD recordings of many festivals through the years. While earlier festival recordings are transfers from videotape, those produced over the last 10 years or so have been edited especially for DVD viewing. Currently available are recordings of the 2004, 2005,2008, 2014, and 2019 Festivals.
