Internal RhymeInternal rhyme occurs within a line of poetry, as opposed to rhyme that occurs at the end of the line (end rhyme).Assignment Directions:•Write sentences and/or short poems that use internal rhyme.•Only use spelling words that being with vowels: a, e, i, o, u.•Underline each spelling word in your assignment.
ExamplesMy Spanish teacher is a preacher and she abbreviates her lectures.

assignment. The internal rhyme must occur based on
the spelling word.ACCEPTABLE:My Spanish teacher told us to abbreviate and conjugate our verbs for homework.
AlliterationAlliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginnings of words.Assignment Directions:•Write sentences and/or short poems that use alliteration.•Only use spelling words that being with consonants.•Underline each spelling word in your assignment.
Tongue TwistersMany Tongue Twisters use alliteration:OPeter Piper picked a pail of pickled peppers.OSusie sold seashells by the sea shore.
Not all “Tongue Twisters” use alliteration:OHow much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? He’d chuck as much as a wood chuck would chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
Simply repeating words in a sentence/tongue twister does not demonstrate good alliteration.
ExamplesMy mathematics teacher teaches teenagers the times tables.
Although the sentence above uses alliteration, this will not be acceptable for the
assignment. The alliteration must occur at least five
times based on the spelling word.
My mathematics teacher, Mr. Mamay, makes me memorize my multiplication table.

Answer 1:Why can’t words that begin with vowels be used for ALLITERATION?OBy definition, alliteration means “the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of words.”
For the purpose of this assignment, internal rhyme will be used exclusively for words that begin with vowels, since words
with vowels cannot be used for alliteration.

will be used exclusively for words that begin with vowels, since words with
vowels cannot be used for alliteration.
