Minimum dross was deposited on the fuel . A meeting to review the safety aspects of applying this approach to EBR fuel rods has been scheduled for Monday . SEFOR Vault #4 clean-up, removal and storage of all equipment, storage rac k and tooling and vacuuming of the vault was completed . Drums of SNM located in Vault #3 were rearranged and covered for long term storage . The vault was vacuumed and prepared for Hallam cask loading operations . RMDF Operation s

Unusable equipment continues to be surveyed and sent to salvage i fclean . The evaporator plenum pre- filters were changed and the controllerrepaired . The last eight galvanized drums were shipped to Building 20 .Another shipment of 50 drums is scheduled for October 14 .

Problem : The holdup pond pumping system is not designed properly andsubsequently is not operating properly . We will make the necessaryfloat switch changes to eliminate pump on/off chatter .

Building 059 Activitie s

The ground water at Building 059 is remaining level instead of falling,probably due to the rain this week . Sand pit water continues to riseat about 1/4" per day .

NMDF ( Meyer )

A power supply , exhaust filters , and pressure release devices were packaged .Eight drums of TRU waste were repackaged in galvanized drums .

T093 (L-85) (Meyer )

Scabbling of contaminated areas on the floor is complete . Miscellaneouscontaminated equipment was removed , packaged and sent to RMDF. The floorarea was surveyed and released as clean . Contaminated shielding blocks werewrapped and boxes were ordered .

SAF Line (Marzec )

The engineering report to the SAF Line power transport system cleanoutmethods assessment is completed . The Program Office will complete thereport and issue the document next fiscal year .

IR&D Concrete Demolition ( Marzec )

Information has been collected on the IR&D funded concrete demolitionproject . CAPs will be prepared next week .

The Pertec disk drive was repaired and has been coupled to the sparecomputer for compiling of Fortran programs and converting dat afrom Pertec hard disks to Winchester . Connectors have been received tofinish out the PaR replacement cables . A pressure limit switch has beeninstalled in the PaR control chassis to prevent lowering the PaR withoutair pressure . Four variacs have been placed in the PaR control consoleto be able to vary the intensity of the TV camera lights . The SWR Iprocurement was received on Friday .

J . M . Harris , R . A . Marshall , D . E . Gjellum, P . H . Waite , N . A . Smith andJ . Little all passed the test for UT Level 1 Certification . All, exceptMarshall and Smith , will be certified as Level 1 UT Examiners next week .Marshall and Smith require additional on-the-job training prior to certi-fication . This was the largest group tested to date and they had the highes taverage score . Budgetary and scheduling information were prepared for IR&Dtasks for Fiscal Year 1984 . First quarter capital requirements have beenspecified . Detailed drawings were received from Bagac . The drawings willbe used to complete the design of the flange device and prepare weld mapsfor the inspection plan . Technical marketing funding has been used toprepare generic weld maps for Combustion Engineering plants . Palisades datawas used and the weld maps are on Cad /Cam ..

Software (R . C . Lewis )

Revision B of 444TI000023 ( ISI input data set generation ), Revision A of444TI000025 (ISI UT measurement), and Revision C of 444TI0000T5 (ISIData Retrival Program ) are being signed off and should be released nextweek . Work continues on programming of variable recording gates whichwill allow different threshold levels to be used for the near frontsurface area , the first 1/4 T thickness area, and the area between 1/4 Tand the back surface reflection . Training class for the TPC ISI inspection,to be conducted in mid-October , was completed .
