IntroductionThe Master in Interior Design for Commercial Spaces has been designed for dynamic professionals with global responsibilities or those destined to assume such responsibilities and aiming to study while continuing their successful careers.

The programme, IED Barcelona and its international network of classmates and alumni provide our students with access to the most enlightened ideas, groundbreaking research and innovative international creative business practices.

The course focuses on developing leadership processes in innovation, creativity and the management of retail projects and commercial malls, in addition to training professional teams to generate future commercial contexts. The various broad disciplines to be addressed in this Master’s course has been structured around the design of the purchase experience by the user and the design of experiences by the employee. These transversal experiences are to be designed in commercial spaces by providing branding with a prominent crosscutting role within the content.

This is why an interdisciplinary professional profile is required. A profile with management skills to help represent and present viable, differentiated solutions in various commercial contexts, alongside a grounding in the basics, methodologies and graphic tools of industrial and interior design.

IED Barcelona MastermethodologyIED Master school provides continuing training, qualifications, specialisations and the chance to keep up-to-date with all aspects of design, backed by the rich historic and cultural heritage of Italian design.

Our strategy for the future is always in tune with social, environmental and financial macrotrends, and we keep a watchful eye on the changes that our cities and surroundings will need to adapt to over the coming 30 years. We believe that we can provide answers and solutions through design.

Our teaching here at IED Master is based on the four scenarios we consider crucial to face the needs of the future: design for sustainable development, design for new business models, design for new media and design for people.

Our goal is to train professionals who are capable of harnessing cultural values and de-sign tools to not only overcome the challenges of the future, but create and drive innovation. We want our students to take responsibility for their training path and learn how to steer it with the support and tutoring of experts and professionals.

At IED Master, we see the School as a laboratory where students can be innovative, enterprising and a driving force; where they are free to experiment and create.

#6 Specific course methodologyThe Master is structured around a theoretical/practical teaching programme focused on completing two projects: an initial basic introductory project and a second comprehensive commercial space design project.
