103 Implementing Barcoding (2:25 pm - 3:25 pm)If you are considering investing in warehouse automation, this class will serve as a blueprint for what you should be doing next. We will give an overview of what Chempax C/S has to offer and what steps should be taken to decide if it is the right fit for you. The class will also cover some of those “getting started steps” if you decide Barcoding is right for you.

104 Catching up with Chempax Workshop* (2:25 pm - 3:25 pm)Designed as an add-on to the What’s New Classes, Catching up with Chempax will allow you to see some of the new features of software in a hands on environment. The class will focus on a sample of new features and walk you through exercises that demonstrate how they can be used.

105 Freight Overview (3:35 pm - 4:35 pm)The ever changing freight conversation will be addressed in this class. We will review the many different ways it can be handled in Chempax C/S. We also will cover why some ways may work better for certain circumstances.

106 Portal Success Workshop* (3:35 pm - 4:35 pm)This hands-on class will walk you through some of the exciting things our customers have recently changed in the portals to improve their businesses. Haven’t quite figured out the best way to leverage the Portals? Attend this class for some starter ideas.

THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2016201 MRP Forum (8:30 am - 9:30 am)The MRP Forum will start with a brief overview of MRP, then we would like to hear from you. We hope to have an open discussion of what people have accomplished with MRP and why others may have hit a road block in setting everything up. Our hope is to have a lively discussion about MRP and its benefits at your company.

202 Crystal Reports Introduction for Beginners Workshop (8:30 am - 9:30 am)This beginner class will focus on the fundamentals of Crystal. While the class will touch on some database structure concepts, the core of the class will be learning what Crystal has to offer. The workshop portion will include beginner exercises to better understand the features covered. The exercise will also include some advanced Crystal features such as input parameters and subreports. This course is designed for those classifying themselves as beginners but can be a refresher for those who may be intermediates.

203 Catching up with Chempax Workshop* (8:30 am - 9:30 am)Designed as an add-on to the What’s New Classes, Catching up with Chempax will allow you to see some of the new features of software in a hands on environment. This session will focus on some of those changes such as the collation of documents, cloning of documents, and pdf stamping. There also will be time to discuss what other options you would like to see and share your experiences with fellow users.

205 Crystal Reports for Advanced Users Workshop (9:40 am - 10:40 am)This advanced class will focus on features you can use in custom reports or as additions to our standard NRI reports. We will discuss advance sorting, variables and exporting to Excel. This course is designed for those classifying themselves as an advanced user.

206 Portal Success Workshop* (9:40 am - 10:40 am)This hands-on class will walk you through some of the exciting things our customers have recently changed in the portals to improve their businesses. Haven’t quite figured out the best way to leverage the Portals? Attend this class for some starter ideas.

207 Physical and Cycle Count Forum (10:50 am - 11:50 am)This class will walk you through several different ideas on how to handle Physical Inventory using Chempax C/S. The topic will be open to discussion to hear any creative methods or concerns you or your users may have during Physical Inventory.

208 Mastering NRI Workshop (10:50 am - 11:50 am)In the past we have discussed multiple ways to get data out of this system. This year we will focus on the screen portion of the New Report Interface. The workshop will walk you through changing the filter criteria to meet your needs. We will discuss adding tables and relationships to expand your filtering criteria.

209 Excel Tips and Tricks: Macros Workshop (10:50 am - 11:50 am)This hands-on workshop will introduce you to some of the advanced features of Excel that can help you analyze and review your Chempax data. Think you know all Excel has to offer? Think again and take this class to see what else there is.

210 Bonus and Commission Overview (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)While not everyone calculates bonuses and commissions the same way, there are still features in the software that may be able to help you with yours. The class will explore the recent changes to help handle commissions and bonuses through Chempax C/S.

211 Applying a Chempax C/S Update Workshop (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)This hands-on class will lead you through all the steps of performing a Chempax C/S update. This will include backing up your data and tips about using Verify to test the new release. This class will be very useful to those who don’t typically apply their updates and would like a hands-on training session.

212 Plant Maintenance Workshop (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)Now that you have heard what Plant Maintenance is all about, it’s time to play. This hands-on workshop will guide you through some of the features of Plant Maintenance. It will be a great class to actually understand how it all comes together.

213 Pricing Overview (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm)How many ways can Chempax C/S handle pricing? Too many to list but this class can help you explore what there is to offer. This class will explain the different types of pricing and other options that allows you to customize prices. We also will cover the best methodology for bulk price changes.

CHEMPAX C/S CLASSESTHURSDAY, MAY 12, 2016214 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – Chempax C/S and eChempax (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm)This course will review different operating procedures that address the day-to-day events of servicing customers. We will demonstrate how to utilize automation and technology within Chempax C/S and eChempax to reduce the number of steps required to complete tasks such as: sending samples, processing returns, handling complaints, accessing SDS and COAs, distributing literature, price change requests and approvals, special Lab requests and sending and tracking quotes.

215 Plant Maintenance Forum (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm)It’s time to take another look at Plant Maintenance. A portion of the class will be dedicated to an overview of the module and recent changes. Then the floor will be open to questions or testimonials of how Plant Maintenance can be used to change your business.

CHEMPAX VB CLASSESWEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2016107 Chempax VB Opening Session (9:15 am - 12:00 pm)The opening session will provide all Chempax VB attendees an opportunity to discover “what’s new” across all of the Chempax modules.

108 Using Chempax VB to the Fullest Group Discussion (1:15 pm - 2:15 pm)Are you taking advantage of all that ChempaxVB has to offer? Most customers settle in on a subset of features and miss out on literally hundreds of custom and specialty features which are available. This session is intended to facilitate a broad discussion about ideas and experiences using such diverse features as location control, email events, screen customizations, VB.NET, document management, price change tracking, credit card sales, and many other topics. Since some of these will be covered in detail in later classes, you might want to use this class as an overview for the rest of the conference.

109 Transitioning to ChempaxVB.NET (1:15 pm - 2:15 pm)ChempaxVB.NET is the new face of the Chempax VB software, so configuring it and getting users in a position where they can not only perform their jobs in the new interface, but are comfortable doing so, is a process that all Chempax installations will need to go through at some point. This seminar will review the native tools available to transition screen customizations and user personalization from Chempax VB6 to ChempaxVB.NET, and the options for rolling out the new interface to your user base. In addition to an overview of the features of the new user interface and data entry screens, the class will look at examples of commonly performed lookups and tasks in Chempax VB6 and explore how to accomplish those same goals in ChempaxVB.NET. The seminar will also detail the suggested system requirements for using ChempaxVB.NET, which do differ from the requirements for Chempax VB6.

110 Analyzing Chempax Data Using MS Excel Workshop* (1:15 pm - 2:15 pm)Does your job involve analyzing data? If so, you probably spend a good deal of your day using MS Excel and much of the data you analyze probably came from Chempax. This workshop will show you various ways to bring Chempax data into Excel and then explore various built-in analysis tools such as queries and pivot tables.

111 Personalizing Chempax VB Screens Workshop (1:15 pm - 2:15 pm)Chempax includes a vast array of options and shortcuts which allow users to change the appearance of Chempax screens. Some of these are cosmetic, such as screen colors and column layouts. Others, such as custom menus, favorites, tooltips, custom help guides and Spanish language support, can greatly aid in productivity. This workshop will give you an opportunity to learn about and practice using these features in both the ChempaxVB 6 and ChempaxVB.NET interfaces.

112 Introduction to the Chempax VB Database and MS Access Workshop (2:25 pm - 3:25 pm)This workshop introduces users to the ChempaxVB database. We will explain some of the basic concepts of the MS Access relational database and show you how you can extend the capabilities of Chempax VB by working directly with the data. You will learn how to best use Chempax VB’s built-in Table Browser and then go further by using queries and other features of Microsoft Access. We will also review tips and techniques specific to Access 2010 and 2013. If you are new to Chempax VB, or you are ready to look “under the hood”, this workshop is a must.

113 ChempaxVB.NET - Basic Workshop* (2:25 pm - 3:25 pm)ChempaxVB.NET (a.k.a. DOTNET) is Datacor’s next generation ChempaxVB product. Chempax VB users have the option of installing DOTNET and using it together with the current Chempax VB6 product. The DOTNET interface presents Chempax data in a dynamic “business-centric” style which lets you look at your overall enterprise and then drill down to the part of the business that requires attention. ChempaxVB.NET also includes updated versions of the File Maintenance, Constants, and parts of other modules. This workshop will give you an opportunity to experience this new style of computing that will continue to replace the current look and feel of the current ChempaxVB 6 product.

CHEMPAX VB CLASSESWEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2016114 Catching up with Chempax (2:25 pm - 3:25 pm)This seminar will review some of the new features that have been added to Chempax VB in recent years that even long-time users might have missed. From brand new inquires and reports, to useful tweaks to programs you might use every day, this seminar will help you get the most of Chempax VB. We also will review how you can keep up to date with Chempax VB changes on an ongoing basis back in the office, including receiving email notification directly from the Chempax VB team when new features are made available.

115 Accounting Forum (2:25 pm - 4:35 pm)This session will focus on topics specific to the AP, AR and GL modules in Chempax VB.

116 Implementing Barcoding (3:35 pm - 4:35 pm)The use of barcode scanners has continued to expand across the Chempax VB user base. In this seminar, we will guide you through the steps needed to start using barcode scanners for basic operations such as physical inventory and location transfers. We’ll also describe the more advanced features that customers are using such as automatic transfers to staging areas, printing of barcode labels at the receiving dock, real time cycle counting, automated batch receiving and pallet license plating.

117 ChempaxVB.NET - Advanced Workshop* (3:35 pm - 4:35 pm)For those who have already started to use DOTNET, this will give you an opportunity to look at newly developed features, learn more about advanced grid manipulation and discuss future directions directly with the developers. This class will also provide an opportunity to configure your own Dashboards using the new Chempax Analytics features.

118 Intermediate/ Advanced MS Access Techniques Workshop (3:35 pm - 4:35 pm)If you are already familiar with MS Access tables and queries and you’re ready for more, this workshop will you show you how to further leverage the power of MS Access. We will show you how to create simple data update forms, crosstab queries, subforms and subreports, and other features which will allow you to extend the capabilities of Chempax.

THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2016217 Manufacturers Forum (8:30 am - 9:30 am)About half of the companies that attend Interaxions identify themselves as manufacturers. This seminar will provide an opportunity for attendees from these companies to focus on topics specific to their industry segment and will include the Top 10 lists for the BT and QC modules.

218 Electronic Interfaces (8:30 am - 9:30 am)Chempax VB has a growing number of options which allow you to exchange data electronically with other programs. This seminar will explain how to set up and use such features as email alerts, instant messaging, PDF creation, integration with WIN for Odyssey Freight, imports from EDI, ACH check disbursements, ACH invoicing, emailing of documents, integration with UPS and Fedex, AR Lockbox imports, Credit Card Processing and integration with Avatax from Avalara.

219 Warehouse Management Group Discussion (8:30 am - 9:30 am)This session will give you an opportunity to share concerns and experiences with the Chempax VB team and other ChempaxVB customers around the topic of warehouse management. When we’ve offered this session in the past, much of the discussion centered on the desire to do cycle counting within Chempax. This need has now been at least partially addressed with location-based counting, and we’ll start the discussion by explaining how this works.

221 Chempax VB Reports - Basic Workshop (9:40 am - 10:40 am)In addition to providing a repository of data, MS Access is used to produce all standard ChempaxVB reports. This workshop will show you how to customize any of these reports as well as use them as a starting point to create your own specialized versions. 225 Inventory Posting with Purchasing and AP (10:50 am - 11:50 am)With the increased volatility in pricing that has occurred in recent years, the need for accurately costing inventory has become a larger issue for many chemical companies. Chempax VB includes features that allow for the simplification of the tracking of inventory costs and ensure that the different views, (inventory, GL, Accounts Payable and Purchasing), are all in agreement. This seminar explains how to set up the Inventory GL Mapping and use it in conjunction with PO Receipts and AP voucher entry to achieve these objectives.

226 Mobile Delivery Options Group Discussion (10:50 am - 11:50 am)The Chempax VB team has started to develop Windows tablet applications to collect data in the field. Since these apps do not require a continuous internet connection, they have the potential to be used in a variety of environments. Some of the envisioned uses are delivery confirmations, on-site invoice printing and serial container tracking. This group discussion will give you an opportunity to describe your ideas for mobile computing and help us shape this exciting product direction.

Chempax VB users have the option of installing DOTNET and using it together with the current ChempaxVB 6 product. The DOTNET interface presents Chempax data in a dynamic “business-centric” style which lets you look at your overall enterprise and then drill down to the part of the business that requires attention. ChempaxVB.NET also includes updated versions of the File Maintenance, Constants, and parts of other modules. This workshop will give you an opportunity to experience this new style of computing that will continue to replace the current look and feel of the current Chempax VB6 product.

229 Sales Analysis & Forecasting (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)Chempax VB offers a large number of reports and inquiries which allow for the analysis of sales and profit data. The available options range from detailed transaction reports, to summaries by month, month range or year, with a nearly endless number of subtotaling choices. This seminar will compare and contrast the various programs on the Invoicing and Sales Analysis menus to help you determine which are best matched to meet various sets of requirements. We will also explain the system custom options which affect sales and profit reporting, and explore options for entering forecast/budget figures and analyzing them versus actual sales.

230 End of Period Procedures / Financial Reconciliation (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)While Chempax VB’s end of period processing is very forgiving, allowing periods to be easily re-opened, there are some procedures you should follow to avoid reconciliation nightmares and to maximize the available analysis tools. This seminar will include a review of the closing procedures for the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payables, Sales and Inventory sub ledgers, and the GL. We will also demonstrate techniques for reconciling the sub ledgers to the GL.

232 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – Chempax VB and eChempax (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm) This course will review different operating procedures that address the day-to-day events of servicing customers. We will demonstrate how to utilize automation and technology within Chempax VB and eChempax to reduce the number of steps required to complete tasks such as: sending samples, processing returns, handling complaints, accessing MSDS and COAs, distributing literature, price change requests and approvals, special Lab requests and sending and tracking quotes.

233 Database Maintenance and Archiving (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm)The MS Access database used by Chempax VB doesn’t require frequent attention, but as companies grow there is some amount of database maintenance required. This seminar will explain the various tools and procedures available for maintaining the Chempax VB database, and will cover such topics as applying Chempax LiveUpdates, Compacting and Repairing, Archiving, partitioning the database to manage growth, and diagnosing common problems.

234 ChempaxVB.NET - Advanced Workshop* (2:10 pm - 3:10 pm)For those who have already started to use DOTNET, this will give you an opportunity to look at newly developed features, learn more about advanced grid manipulation and discuss future directions directly with the developers. This class will also provide an opportunity to configure your own Dashboards using the new Chempax Analytics features.

If so, you probably spend a good deal of your day using MS Excel and much of the data you analyze probably came from Chempax. This workshop will show you various ways to bring Chempax data into Excel and then explore various built-in analysis tools such as queries and pivot tables.

305 Document Management (8:30 am - 9:30 am)This seminar will explore the features available for the storage and distribution of documents in Chempax VB. We will look at the interfaces available for linking documents to Chempax VB data, and options for automatically creating documents and linking them to various types of Chempax transactions. One area of focus will be the continuing enhancements to the distribution options for documents via Chempax, including the ability to add your own “stamps” to documents received from vendors in the form of PDFs.

306 Inventory Management Methodologies / Material Resource Planning (8:30 am - 9:30 am)This course will explore features available in Chempax VB for analysis and management of inventory, including those that would most benefit a Distributor type business model. We will start with the tools that are available to provide simple yet useful analysis based on current inventory levels and pending transactions. We will also review both the Inventory Management (IM) Module and the Resource Planning (RP) Module, discussing the differences between the two. We will look at the procedures required for the setup and ongoing maintenance of both IM and RP, and follow through with a review of the analysis tools that will be available and the ultimate output once the modules are fully implemented.

307 Administration/Information Technology (IT) Forum (8:30 am - 10:40 am)The Administration/IT Forum will cover topics involving Chempax maintenance and administration, including the Administration, File Maintenance and Constants menus. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss areas of IT that relate to Chempax, such as servers, remote access, printers, scheduled tasks, emailing, backup and recovery, etc.

308 Managing Cost and Price Changes (9:40 am - 10:40 am)Due to rapidly changing financial conditions, much attention has been paid to the process of changing prices in Chempax VB. This seminar will review the methods available to plan, implement and analyze price changes in Chempax, and show you how to let your customers know about planned price changes in an efficient and timely manner. We also will demonstrate some of the newer features, including customer/product margins and future pricing based on anticipated “replacement” cost.

309 Tracking Chempax VB Transactions and Data (9:40 am - 10:40 am)This seminar will review tools available in Chempax VB for tracking transactions and data throughout the software. We will start by examining “generic” audit trails built into Chempax VB, such as the Transaction Log, Report Request Log, Activity Log and Inventory Audit trail. We will then use sales orders as a case study, and show you how to track order information through Chempax VB using both order-specific and generic tools.

310 ChempaxVB.NET - New Feature Test Track Workshop (9:40 am - 10:40 am)If you’d like a bit more time to try out the new features of VB.NET, we’ve set aside this workshop for your use. As with our other workshops, we’ll provide a scripted guide to walk you through a test case of each of the new features that we’ve introduced in VB.NET in the last couple of years. You can pick and choose which features you’d like to try, and members of the VB team will be there answer your questions and get you pointed in the right direction.
