The computers are a free service that the library offers to its patrons.

All computer users must: • Read and sign the Computer Acceptable Use Agreement• Have a current library card and have no outstanding fees

exceeding $3.00.• 18 or older to use the computers without an adult present.

– Children between the ages of 13 and 17 can be given permission by a parent or legal guardian to use the computers alone.

The computers may be used up to 120 minutes per day.

Fun Websitesfor Teens

• Teen Ink- This is an online magazine by teens for teens. You can write stories, share your work, and rate other users work.

• Young Composers- Do you like to make music? Then this is the website for you. Upload your music and talk with fellow composers about your music.

• Listen Up!- This website allows you to upload your movies and view other users media. The website also allows you to chat about your projects with the other users.

• Encyclopedia Britannica- This website provides you with general knowledge about a variety of topics.

• Homework Help- This is a list of resources compiled by NCLIVE to help you find information for research projects and help you study for that upcoming test.

• Biography in Context- This website has over a million biographical entries. This is a great resource for research on historical figures.

• NC WiseOwl- This website has a variety of resources that are great for any research project.Encyclopedia Britannica, NCLIVE, and Biography in Context all

require a library card number to access them.

am.• Toddler Story Time (Ages 1-2): Is every Wednesday from 9:15 –

9:30 am.• Family Story Time (All ages): Is the first Saturday of each month.• Special Needs Story Time: Staff members from Bayada Nursing

present a story designed for children with autism, CP, brain injuries or any other special needs. For more information call 704-797-2993.

• Tales at Twilight: Is a family story time that is held the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.

• Planet Turtle- This website also allows your child to create an avatar and interact with other children while playing games. (This website requires a log-in.)

• Fun Brain- This website has hundreds of fun and educational games that your child will enjoy.

• ABCYA- This website is the leader in free educational games for children. They have both math and language arts games for K-5 students.

• PBSKIDS- This website is both fun and educational. It combines your child’s favorite television shows with learning basic skills like phonics.

• Starfall- This is another fun and educational website that combines silly songs and videos with reading skills practice.

• National Geographic Young Explorer- This website allows your child to learn about animals while reading and/or listening to online editions of National Geographic Young Explorer.
