Course Introduction
Welcome Welcome to the Navistar® training course: Interactive Electrical Schematics This course is intended to provide parts and service personnel with an in depth overview of the operation and function of the Interactive Electrical Schematics application.
Objectives Upon completion of this course, the viewer will be able to:
• Navigate and use the application home screen
• Identify and describe the function of each tab on the Navigation Menu
• Navigate schematics to find relevant information

Application Introduction
Interactive Electrical Schematics is a state of the art, high tech application that allows users to view electrical schematics for International Trucks and IC Buses.
This application aides in diagnosing modules, components, devices, sensors, connectors, and wires.
THE INTERACTIVE ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS APPLICATION IS FOR CHASSIS ONLY.

Service Portal Access
The application is launched from the Master Service Information (MSI) page located on the International® Service Portal℠.

Home Screen Navigation When the Interactive Electrical Schematics application is launched, the home screen will appear.
The Menu button will hide the navigation panel and maximize the screen to full view. Click on the menu button again, and the navigation menu will show.

The EN button indicates the language is set to English.
The Print button allows users to print the current window.

Module 2: Navigation Menu
Menu Tabs The navigation menu provides reference material, electrical schematics, and other schematic references that are available in the application.
When the menu tabs are clicked, they will hide and unhide the information under that tab.

Menu Numbers The numbers next to each menu tab represent the number of items located within that topic.
For example, a tab with 50 out of 284, indicates there are 284 items available to view, but only 50 will show at a time.

Clicking on the Next link that is shown at the bottom of the list, will display the next batch of items.
Clicking on the Previous link at the top of the list will go back to the previous batch of items.

Section 2: Electrical Schematics
Electrical Schematics displays a list of system folders associated with the application package that have schematics available for viewing.
Click on the plus and minus button or the system folder to display and collapse folders.
THE FOLDER STRUCTURE OF ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO COINCIDE WITH SECTION 08 - ELECTRICAL/SOFTWARE OF THE RESPECTED TECHNICAL MANUAL.
THE FOLDER STRUCTURE WITHIN ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS WILL CHANGE BASED ON THE VEHICLE PLATFORM.

Titles with a paper icon represents a schematic. Click on the title to open the schematic.

Section 3: Location Views
Location Views will show a two-dimensional, or 2D, illustration that identifies the location of the item.
These illustrations may also consist of views from various perspectives.

2D illustrations will be available for components, modules, devices, sensors, and connectors. Illustrations will not be available for circuit locations.
Schematic Links When an illustration is displayed, clicking on the callout number will open an information box providing additional details about the item.
If the Information box provides an additional link to a schematic, it will be under Links.

Split Window When a schematic link is clicked, it will open in a split window, allowing for the 2D location view and schematic to be shown at the same time.
The item will highlight red on the schematic and in the 2D location view.
Type Z to perform a quick zoom on the selected item.

Navigate and Zoom To navigate around a schematic or illustration in the viewer, click once and hold on the illustration until a cursor hand is visible. Move the cursor to navigate around the schematic or illustration.
To zoom in or out on the schematic or illustration, use the plus and minus buttons or the slider on the zoom bar. Click on the resize button to return the schematic or illustration to its default size.

Section 4: Part Assembly List Connector Assembly List The Connector Assembly List will help identify correct part numbers needed for a Repair Order.
To copy and paste text into another document such as a Repair Order, highlight the number or text, then copy and paste.

Section 5: Connectors Tab Connectors will display a list of all the connectors used on any of the schematics that have been loaded into the application.
When a connector is selected, an information box will open displaying additional information related to the connector.

Click on the schematic under Links and the schematic will open showing the connector highlighted in red.
Type Z to perform a quick zoom on the selected item.
Click on the part number under Face Views and a face drawing of the connector will display along with a connector chart.

Section 6: Inlines Inlines will display a list of all the connectors used on any of the various schematics.
When an inline connector is clicked, it will function in the same manner as the connectors.

Section 7: Devices Devices displays a list of all modules, devices, components, and sensors available on the various schematics.
Click on any of the items to open an information box displaying additional information about that item.
Devices functions in the same manner as connectors and inlines.

Section 9: Filter Search The Filter Search allows the user to search by keywords to locate relevant information.
Type in a keyword and press enter.

Module 3: Schematic View
Schematic Title When a schematic is opened, the title will appear at the top of the window. This will allow the user to track which schematic is being viewed.

Components Button The Components button will appear at the top of the window for any schematic.
Listed under the components button are all the connectors, devices, and signals available on the schematic being viewed.

Schematic Button If there are other schematics that relate to the schematic being viewed, they will be linked under a Schematic button that appears at the top of the window, if available.

Information Box Each schematic is interactive and provides detailed information to help diagnose the electrical features of the vehicle. When any of the interactive links are clicked on within the schematic, an information box will display.
The information box will have any of the four topics: Links, 2D Location Views, Face Views, and Component Information.
Links will provide a list of other related schematics that the item is linked too, if available.

2D Location Views provides illustrations that relate to the item, if available.
Face Views displays an illustration of the connector along with a detailed connector chart. Face Views are only available for connectors and inlines.
Component Information provides additional information about the specific item. This topic is not interactive.

Connectors When a connector on the schematic is clicked and the part number under face view is selected, the window will split showing the schematic and a face view of the connector.

Build Feature
When connectors, modules, wires, and devices are clicked on within the schematic, they will have a Build available.
The Build button will appear in the upper left corner of the main screen.
THE BUILD FEATURE MAY TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO LOAD DEPENDING ON THE ITEM THAT WAS SELECTED.

Build is a quick reference for viewing information on a device, connector, or wire.
Connectors will bring up a build showing all of the wires that are connected to that connector.

Click on a wire in the build screen and choose build again.
It brings up the rest of the schematic it is attached to, showing the pin and the connector it is connected to on the module.
