is an Italian Renaissance mathematician, physician, astrologer and gambler.
The project on Cardano involves Reperio on some levels:
1. reconstructing Cardano’s thought and his specialized vocabulary by developing an ontology based on Contradicentium Medicorum Libri Duo
2. cataloguing the bibliography of reference (Cardano’s works, explicit and implicit sources) to allow indexing and research
3. making the digital edition available online with the transcription of Contradicentium Medicorum Libri Duo and other texts related to it
4. providing a collaborative environment for reading, study, research, and posting semantic annotations and comments.
Vision & Mission
is to help eliminate isolation within different research communities by facilitating collaborative ways of working and sharing content and resources, while respecting the intellectual property of the individual scholar.
has a modular architecture, which provides the core functionality; specialized, flexible and reusable tools are implemented on it.
The tools are developed to meet the needs of the projects and thanks to an exchange of information with users too.
is a collaborative knowledge environment for Humanities and Science
it’s main functions and characteristics are:
Metadata & content (full-text) search
Metadata & content (full-text) search
Metadata & content (full-text) search
Search results
helps to bridge the ambiguity of the natural language when expressing notions and their computational representation in a formal language. By telling a computer how data items are related and how these relations can be evaluated automatically, it becomes possible to process complex filter and search operations.
Semantic annotation
The annotation through instances: consists of the population or instantiation of the ontology to later associate one or more instances to the annotated element. In this way, the annotated element acquires the property values that describe the instance.
