About the College

Chandrapur College was established in August, 1985. The College is situated

42 km away towards the North-East side from the District Head Quarter,

Burdwan and 25 km away towards South –West side of Katwa, a sub-

divisional town of the district. The College caters to the need of students

coming mostly from families belonging to lower and lower-middle classes.

The institution tries its best to provide quality education tom all the

students, the majority of whom are poor, backward and under privileged.

The vision of the College is to spread the light of education among learners

of the poor, backward and minority community, particularly, emancipating

the girl students from the darkness of ignorance and leading towards the

world of knowledge and self reliance. From its very inception, the College

attempted to embrace the traditional wisdom and the value system of the

country.

Information at a Glance

• The Department of Physical Education, Chandrapur College requests the pleasure of

your august presence in the Inter College State Games and Sports Championship

Tournament, 2017-18, Burdwan District, is to be held on 27th

, 28th

and 29th

January,

2018 at 09:30 a.m. onwards at College Ground.

• The DPI under the auspicious of Higher Education Directorate, Govt. of W. B., has

pleased to allot and sanction for hosting the event in this College located in a

comparatively called as backward, remote and poor area of the district encompassing

more than 75 colleges of different types amalgamating two districts (Purba & Paschim

Bardhaman) in one segment for the first time of its inception.

• Sri Arup Biswas, Honourable Minster-in-Charge, Sports and Youth Welfare

Department, Govt. of West Bengal will preside over the function.

• Janab Siddiculla Choudhury, Honourable Minster-in-Charge, Library and Mass

Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal will grace the occasion as Honourable

Special Guest.

• Sri Debu Tudu, the Honourable Sabhadhipati, Burdwan Zila Parishad, has kindly

consented to grace the occasion and inaugurate the said Championship.

• Dr Tushar Kanti Ghara, Honourable Joint Director of Public Instructions, Govt. of W.

B. has kindly consented to be present in the opening ceremony of the Meet.

• Sri Anurag Srivastava, Honourable District Magistrate, Purba Bardhaman will

inaugurate as well as light the lamp of the Championship for boys and girls on 27th

January, 2018.

• The Sub-Divisional Officer (Katwa Sub-Division), hoisting the balloons for the said

event, Block Development Officer (Katwa – I Block), will unfurl the pigeon marking

sovereignty and peace of the said Tournament.

• The Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of Health and Block Medical Officer of Health,

Katwa, for extending their help providing Medical Team and Medical escort Van/car

on the days of event.

• The Honourable Pradhan (Saragram Gram Panchyayt) has extended to use their

community hall and other facilities.

• The Sports Board, University of Burdwan, has kindly consented to provide all sorts of

assistance from their end and agreed to supply all the sports equipments required for the

Tournament.

• The Burdwan District Sports Association has kindly provided their help and assistance

to make the Athletics’ Meet a success

• The Burdwan District Referee Association has kindly provided their help and assistance

to make Football Tournament a success.

• The Burdwan District Kho Kho Association has kindly extended their help and

cooperation to meet the need of the Tournament.

• The Burdwan District Youth Welfare Officer is invited to be present on the august

occasion.

• The Burdwan District Physical Education Officer is invited to be present on the said

event.

• The Headmaster, Chandrapur Central High School has kindly consented to extend

their all sorts of help and cooperation and also providing their play ground for this

championship.

• The Secretary and Members, Boinchi Chandimata Sporting Club has consented to

extend and provide their football ground for the use of Athletics’ and other

Championship.

• The Katwa and Dainhat Municipality Officials have extended their help providing the

drinking water and Vats for all those days of event.

We cordially invite you all, thankful and indebted to the officials/

dignitaries, institutions / associations/ body of organizations etc. and others

for their generous help and cooperation. We extend our heartfelt
