An Intelligent Video Surveillance system uses Intelligent Cameras and Video Analytics software to determine if a recorded activity should trigger an alert. For each camera, the system monitors “virtual sensors” (i.e. virtual trip wire) via seven motion-based analytic rules. Combining these rules with size-based object tracking, the camera can trigger an alert when a certain- sized object (car, person etc.) crosses the virtual trip line reducing false positives by up to 97%. The virtual trip line could be aligned with the top of a fence, an entrance, a gate, a sidewalk or simply a line virtually drawn on the ground. How has Video Surveillance changed? Video surveillance has helped protect properties for many years, but it has always been very reactive (What happened last night?). If you wanted live video surveillance, you had to hire people or a company to watch your security camera feeds for suspicious activity. With Intelligent Cameras and Video Analytics, the tedious and expensive process of “watching” is automated. These new intelligent systems will generate an alert when it “sees” something suspicious and even begin an automated series of events, such as turning on lights, to immediately deter intruders. Professional video monitoring services still play an important role in analyzing alerts and quickly escalating an incident to the authorities. Outsourcing this process to trained professionals results in up to 6x faster police response and additional proactive features like Audio Talk-down to deter intruders. Since the security team is only engaged when an alert is sent, there is significant cost savings over traditional, dedicated video surveillance monitoring. Most importantly, the addition of Intelligence makes video surveillance an affordable, proactive security technology that extends your “alert” coverage beyond the doors and windows of your building to the perimeter of your property. This additional buffer provides more time to prevent an incident from occurring. What is “Intelligent” Video Surveillance?

An Intelligent Video Surveillance system uses Intelligent Cameras and Video Analytics software to determine if a recorded activity should trigger an alert. For each camera, the system monitors “virtual

sensors” (i.e. virtual trip wire) via seven motion-based analytic rules. Combining these rules with size-based object tracking, the camera can trigger an alert when a certain-sized object (car, person etc.) crosses the virtual trip line reducing false positives by up to 97%.

How will I know what’s best for my property?

The best way to get started is with a Video Surveillance Assessment. An assessment will help us design a custom solution specific to your requirements—considering all buildings, floor plans, landscaping, outdoor equipment, driveways, parking lots, property lines and nearby roads. The assessment will:

• Identify potential threat sources and entry points• Inspect your property for security vulnerabilities• Evaluate existing physical security infrastructure components• Consider potential failures and design redundancy• Determine the number and type of cameras required to properly secure your location

If your security needs include additional technologies (i.e. access control), we also offer a complete Physical Security Assessment.

On the screen, you will see the camera identify the object approaching the trip line by outlining it in green. It will follow the object as it moves, passing control to additional cameras, if necessary.

Once the object crosses the virtual trip wire, the object’s outline turns red and an alert is sent. The alert can be sent electronically to an individual, security team, or an external monitoring service for further analysis and incident escalation.

Some other virtual sensors can include:

• Object Abandonment (delivery or abandoned package)• Missing Object (inventory, equipment or vehicle)• Perimeter (entering or exiting a pre-defined area)• Loitering (cars or people spending too much time in an area)• Traffic (counting people or vehicles)

The system comes with a mobile app and a desktop application so that you can check-in on your property remotely. It also can be armed and disarmed from a keypad with custom entry and exit delays just like a traditional security system.
