The COMSYS finding verifies a widely acknowledged market
shake up, through which Intellian has ascended to market lead-
ership. A combination of modern production facilities, experi-
enced professionals and a global presence has helped Intellian
facilitate a significant jump in demand across the sector. The
blend of technical excellence, service commitment and value
offered by Intellian has resulted in its products being adopted as
part of the core offering of many of the major operators, includ-
ing Airbus (Vizada/Marlink) and Inmarsat.
According to the 4th Edition of the COMSYS Maritime VSAT Re-
port: “In our 2012 report we judged Intellian’s product to also
be more completely integrated and thought through than many
others – the company informed us that it has made a number
of design decisions that allow for simplified installation, easy
maintenance and easily understood user control interfaces.”
COMSYS concluded that Intellian had “the potential to substan-
tially shake up the established order of the business”. Confirm-
ing the accuracy of the prediction, the report says that, in 2013,
Intellian was responsible for over one third of global stabilised
antenna sales in a market that itself grew by more than 50 per
cent. “In part, some of this growth can be attributed directly to
Intellian which has been possibly the largest instigator of lower
prices for standardised stabilised antennas since 2012.”
The 4th Edition of the COMSYS Maritime VSAT Report has confirmed Intel-lian as the leading company within the stabilised antenna market, with a 35.6% share of the market. “Intellian now leads the market under a single brand having achieved spectacular results since 2012,” the report com-ments.

In conjunction with the relocation of the
administrative office from Gangnam, In-
tellian has opened a second R&D center
in Seoul’s Technology Valley. The new lo-
cation is not only strategically closer to
the recently expanded state-of-the-art
Innovation Center but also at the heart of
Korea’s Panygo Techno Valley. The new
office space will better accommodate
Intellian’s growth and will house corpo-
rate management, marketing, product
management and finance, along with an
expanded R&D team.
The opening of the second R&D center is
the latest investment in innovation. Intel-
lian invests 10 percent of its revenue in
R&D activities and has 30 percent of its
workforce involved in product develop-
ment. The move to Panygo will ensure
that Intellian is part of the best possible
business environment for cutting-edge
innovation with access to a strong talent
pool of world-class R&D professionals.
Commenting on the move, CEO, Eric
Sung said, “It is time for the next chap-
ter in Intellian’s growth strategy. Bring-
ing together functions like marketing and
sales alongside our R&D teams will add
an important synergy to the business. The
move to Panygo will also see Intellian po-
sitioned as part of this dynamic, world-
class R&D cluster with the ability to take
advantage of the superior infrastructure,
manpower training and networking op-
portunities that are available.” Sung con-
tinued, “Expansion so far, is at almost 400
percent of that of the previous Gangnam
office, and we still have immediate plans
to recruit a further 30 plus engineers. The
new location will further support our ef-
forts in attracting the world-class R&D
and support staff that we need to grow
the business. The Pangyo Techno Valley
will provide Intellian with the best en-
vironment to optimize its technological
competitiveness as we look to the fu-
ture.”

Constant, high-speed connectivity at sea has shifted from a desirable feature to an operational requirement.
Historically, installing and operating conventional satellite communications antennas has been complicated
and time consuming. Intellian’s guiding philosophy is to enable a smooth, cost-effective transition to high
speed connectivity at sea for all vessel categories, which means simplified installations, easy operation, fewer
service visits, and reduced spare parts inventory.
Widely regarded as an innovator, Intellian has delivered multiple industry shaping technologies. Our patented
Global PLL LNB forever eliminated the need to change LNBs when moving from one global region to another,
and comes standard on all of our VSAT systems. The seamless automatic band switching technology on the
new v240M is the first of its kind and has transformed a process once measured in days into a simple button
tap. Intellian is keenly focused on solving common market challenges to deliver the ultimate customer experi-
ence and unparalleled value.
In addition to being engineered with the most pressing needs of service providers and end users in mind,
Intellian antennas are designed and tested to function flawlessly in the most extreme conditions. Whether it’s
tropical heat and humidity in the Strait of Malacca or brutal winter storms around Cape Horn, Intellian’s entire
range of satellite antennas will exceed expectations.

Kymeta mTenna™ Technology to be integrated into maritime terminals
Kymeta’s flat-panel satellite antenna technology will be inte-
grated into Intellian maritime terminal products through a part-
nership with the Kymeta corporation to commercialize world-
class next generation Ku-band maritime satellite terminals. The
terminals, built by Intellian, will integrate Kymeta’s thin, flat,
lightweight, electronically beam-steered mTenna satellite an-
tennas, which are built on metamateria-based technology.
“Intellian is very pleased to be partnering with Kymeta to bring
to market the next generation of VSAT technology,” said Eric
Sung, CEO, Intellian. “Over the past few months of discussions
we have found Kymeta’s corporate culture and philosophy to be
closely aligned with our own, sharing a keen focus on enabling
overall market growth by making VSAT technology simple and
easy to adopt across all segments.”
Dr. Nathan Kundtz, founder, President, and CTO of Kymeta Cor-
poration commented, “Intellian is a highly reputable and inno-
vative developer of terminals for the maritime market. Working
together we will create affordable products for large markets,
which are currently un-addressable or are underpenetrated.”

Inmarsat has completed the integration,
evaluation and testing of the Intellian
FleetBroadband Xtra solution incorporat-
ing Intellian’s GX100 and GX60 GX termi-
nals along with their FB250 and FB500
FleetBroadband systems. “We are very
pleased that these Intellian terminals
have been approved for use with our
FleetBroadband Xtra service. I am proud
that the newest service within our portfo-
lio is gaining such momentum in the mar-
ket that trusted manufacturing partners
like Intellian are underwriting this with
their terminals,” said Ronald Spithout
President of Inmarsat Maritime.
The recently unveiled Intellian 65cm GX60
and 1m GX100 are both approved for use,
along with Intellian’s FB250 and FB500,
with the newly announced Inmarsat GX
service, Fleetbroadband Xtra. FleetBroad-
band Xtra is the first maritime solution of-
fering Global Xpress connectivity overlaid
on global FleetBroadband service. Serv-
ing as an interim product to Fleet Xpress,
which will become available when GX
begins global commercial services early
in the second half of 2015. Designed to
enable maritime customers to benefit
from high-speed broadband connectivity,
Fleet Xpress is a hybrid solution, which
will operate over the Global Xpress
Ka-band network, and incorporate
Inmarsat’s L-band FleetBroadband
service as back-up, providing a tru-
ly global and advanced connectiv-
ity service for maritime customers
anywhere in the world.
Intellian has worked closely with Inmar-
sat to test its latest VSAT terminals com-
bined with the FleetBroadband systems
live on the Global Xpress network. The
GX60 and GX100 terminals were exten-
sively tested live at sea last year, and
now with the FB250 and FB500 Intellian
are able to deliver a complete solution of
proven technology designed to operate
well into the future, fully supporting the
latest Global Xpress services.
