ntel Pentium D or Dual core is not a true dual core processor. Here two separate P4 processors withhyperthraeding Support are put into a single package. They don't have any intercommunication channel inside

he processor die, they share data through the Motherboard FSB. Their Power consumption is high andperformance is on the lower side. They are the worst performing Dual Core processor (Even worse than Older

Athlon X2). Their multitasking handling is poor, since they don't have interprocessor communication. They are

often termed as Twin Core Processor.

Core2Duo are a new breed of true dual core processors. Here two processor cores are implemented in a single

ie, not in a separate package. They have interprocessor communication channel and they communicate with Motherboard FSB as a single entity, not to separate processors. Intel also implemented centrino technology ofheir Mobile processors in Core2Duo. Hence they are highly power efficient. Their FSB is also higher than Pent

D (Minimum C2D FSB is 1066Mhz, for Pentium D:800 Mhz). So even low clock speed C2Ds (Like 1.8 Ghz) are more better performaer than Pentium D clocked over 2.5 Ghz.

A Core2Quad is a Twin Dual COre Processor, 2 separate C2D processors are placed in a single package. But Co

7 is similarly is a true Quad Core (4 processor cores are implemented in a single die).

Pentium D is nothing but 2 Prescott Processors side by side runs very hot, not a good OverClocker

ntel Core 2 Duo processors are next gen processors from Intel on 65 nm platform developed from Ground up wit

new Architecture called Core so they are whole new Processors just Jump like Pentium 2 to Pentium 3 or Pentium

4 Expect one Core 2 Duo Lowest End Processors like E4400/E4300 taking up and beating Intel Pentium D 3.8 GHones with ease [Laughing] runs damn cool and super over clocker

ntel Dual Core Processors are just launched striped down version of Core 2 Duos.. there are 2 in Market for Deskto

ange, E2140 runs at 1.6 GHz with 1 MB L2 and 800 MHz FSB and E2160 with 1.8 GHz with same specs of E2140

hese are not Pentium D rather they are same batch like Core 2 Duo based on the new Core Technology. they

perform same like Core 2 Duos but they were launched with a very low price to counter the market of super low cos

but high performer AMD X2 range line up to AMD X2 4000.

oth the Intel Core i3 and Intel Core 2 Duo processors are native dual cores; they have both processors on the same die which leads to be

rocessing speeds. The Intel Core 2 Duo processors work on the LGA 775 socket, the new Core i3 and Core i5 processors use the LGA 115

ocket. The Core i3 processors support motherboards based on the following chipsets P55, H55, H57, Q57.

s the Core i3 processors have a 32 nm fabrication, they are much more power efficient and run faster than Core 2 Duo processors which

    ave a 65 / 45 nm fabrication. There are two processors in the Core i3 series Core i3 530 (2.93 GHz) and the Core i3 540 (3.06 GHz). B

ave 2 x 256 KB L2 cache and 4 MB of L3 cache. Both the Core i3 processors sport the DMI (Direct Media Interface) which is much faste

han the FSB used in Core 2 Duo processors but is not as fast as Quick Path Interconnect in the Core i7.

    Explanation:

Difference between Intel Core i7 and Core 2 Duo)

he Core i7 is a completely new architecture which is much faster and more efficient than the Core 2 Duo. Currently only the Core i7 920

45 and 965 XE versions are available. Of that the Core i7 920 is available at just $284 which makes it a great buy. It offers better

erformance than almost all Core 2 Duo processors.

Native Quad Core, More Cache and Hyper Threading:

ll the Core i7 processors are Native Quad cores (4 cores), which means that they actually have 4 cores on a single die, while the older C

Duo processors like the Q6600 (22 = 4 cores) had two cores on a single die, and two such dies merged together. This increases the

rocessing speed greatly. They also have 256 KB L2 cache per core and a shared 8 MB L3 cache which has proven to be much better tha

ny cache configuration in Core 2 Duo.

t also has HyperThreading support which means that each of the 4 cores can process 2 threads simultaneously, so you get 8 virtual core

his helps in running many applications parallely and also in gaming.

Quick Path Interconnect (QPI) and On Die Memory Controller:

he Core i7 processors sport the new Quick Path Interconnect technology which replaces the FSB (Front Side Bus) to connect the variou

omponents in a computer. QPI is much faster than FSB and hence improves the overall performance. It is even faster than AMDs similar

    yperTransport 3.0 standard.

he Core i7 have an On Die Memory Controller which means that it can access memory much faster than the Core 2 Duo processors whic

ad an external memory controller. Intel has borrowed this feature from AMD. All the four cores, memory controller, cache are on the sa

ie which improves the speed and performance greatly.

DDR3 stands for double-data-rate three and is a random access memory technology used for high speed storage of theworking data of a computer or other digital electronic device. DDR3 is part of the SDRAM (synchronous dynamic randomccess memory) family of technologies and is one of the many DRAM (dynamic random access memory) implementations.

DDR3 SDRAM is an improvement over its predecessor, DDR2 SDRAM.

The primary benefit of DDR3 is the ability to transfer I/O data at eight times the speed of the memory cells it contains, thunabling faster bus speeds and higher peak throughput than earlier memory technologies. However, there is no correspondeduction in latency, which is therefore proportionally higher. In addition, the DDR3 standard allows for chip capacities of 5

megabits to 8 gigabits, effectively enabling a maximum memory module size of 16 gigabytes.

Higher bandwidth performance, effectively up to 1600 MHz: The main benefit of DDR3 comes from the high

bandwidth made possible by DDR3's 8 bit deep prefetch buffer, in contrast to DDR2's 4 bit prefetch buffer or DDR'

bit buffer. DDR3 modules can transfer data at the effective clock rate of 8001600 MHz using both rising and fallin

edges of a 400800 MHz I/O clock. In comparison, DDR2's current range of effective data transfer rate is 400800

MHz using a 200400 MHz I/O clock, and DDR's range is 200400 MHz based on a 100200 MHz I/O clock.

Higher performance at low power (longer battery life in laptops): DDR3 memory promises a power

consumption reduction of 30% compared to current commercial DDR2 modules due to DDR3's 1.5 V supply voltag

    compared to DDR2's 1.8 V or DDR's 2.5 V.

    Enhanced low power features

    Improved thermal design (cooler)

edit] Disadvantages of DDR3 compared to DDR2

DDR3 is more expensive: Currently (as of 2008), DDR3 costs much more than equivalent DDR2 memory

DDR3 usually has higher CAS latency:While the typical latencies for a JEDEC DDR2 device were 5-5-5-15, the

standard latencies for the newer JEDEC DDR3 devices are 7-7-7-20 for DDR3-1066 and 7-7-7-24 for DDR3-1333.

DDR3 latencies are numerically higher because the clock cycles by which they are measured are shorter; the actua

time interval is generally equal to or lower than DDR2 latencies. Moreover, while these are the standards,

manufacturing processes tend to improve with time. Eventually, DDR3 modules will likely be able to run at lower

    BD vs. DVD

ust as DVD meant a five to ten time increase in storage capacity compared to CD, Blu-ray Disc will increase DVD

apacity by five to ten times. This is due, among other reasons, to the usage of a blue instead of a red laser and

mproved lens specifications, allowing for a much smaller focus laser beam which enables the recording of much

maller and higher density pits on the disc.

Due to the fact that the data layer on a Blu-ray Disc is placed much "closer" to the laser lens than in DVD (or even th

HD-DVD proposal), there is less distortion resulting in significantly improved tolerances. Hence, more precision an

ultra high storage densities are made possible.

As a result of Blu-ray Disc being manufactured as a single substrate disc comparable to CD, but unlike DVD (and th

HD-DVD proposal), the manufacturing process does not involve the bonding of two substrates, resulting in less

production material, a shorter production time and hence lower production costs per disc.

Blu-ray Disc has the same physical characteristics as DVD and CD, and like its predecessors, it also does not require

artridge. This makes it possible to create Blu-ray Disc products that are backwards compatible with CD and DVD,

llowing for a seamless transition to the new technology. Likewise, the technology is perfectly suitable for integration small form factor equipment, like notebook computers.

Tell me a little about yourself."

When responding to this request, you should focus on both your personal and professional values. Always behonest, but talk about your best traits only, especially those that relate to the position for which you arepplying. Highlight experiences and accomplishments you are most proud of. Here's an example:

I'm an experienced communications specialist with extensive knowledge of public information tools andechniques. I've developed comprehensive communication plans for major public events, written dozens of

rticles accepted by worldwide publications, and created specialized educational programs for adults and

tudents. I am always eager to learn new methods and procedures, and have implemented continuousmprovement techniques in my past positions that saved money and increased productivity. I like working withpeople and enjoy group projects, but am also a self-starter who doesn't mind working on my own. I'm a

volunteer with the local chapter of Special Olympics and enjoy participating in community events. My goals aromplete my Master's Degree and broaden my experiences with community relations."

Remember to tailor your response to the specific job. By studying the job announcement, you'll get a good ideof the skills and experience being sought. Work those into your response.

Consider this your own personal commercial. If the interview consisted of only this ONE chance to sell yourselfwhat would you say?

What do you feel has been your greatest work-related accomplishment?"

Choose one example from your past that was important to you and helped the company you worked for. Give

pecific details about what you did, how you did it, and what the results were. Try to pick an accomplishment telates to the position for which you are applying. Employers like to hear about accomplishments that reduced

expenses, raised revenues, solved problems or enhanced a company's reputation.

    What is your greatest strength?"

This is a great chance to highlight your best skills. Don't pick just one, focus on your top three or four. Some

examples are: leadership skills, team-building skills, and organizational skills. Determine which strengths wou

it best with the position for which you are applying. For example, if the job announcement stresses the abilityhandle multiple tasks, you could say: "I'm good at organizational skills, prioritization and time management. Bmy greatest strength is my ability to effectively handle multiple projects and deadlines."

    What is your greatest weakness?"

Be careful with this one. Most interview guides will tell you to answer it with a positive trait disguised as a

weakness. For example, "I tend to expect others to work as hard as I do," or "I'm a bit of a perfectionist."nterviewers have heard these "canned" answers over and over again. To stand out, be more original and statrue weakness, but then emphasize what you've done to overcome it. For example: "I've had trouble delegatinuties to others because I felt I could do things better myself. This has sometimes backfired because I'd end u

with more than I could handle and the quality of my work would suffer. But I've taken courses in time

management and learned effective delegation techniques, and I feel I've overcome this weakness."

MPORTANT: Be sure the weakness you talk about is NOT a key element of the position!

How do you handle stressful situations?"

Give some examples of stressful situations you've dealt with in the past. Tell how you use time management,

problem-solving or decision-making skills to reduce stress. For example, tell them that making a "to-do" list

helps. Site stress-reducing techniques such as stretching and taking a break. Don't be afaid to admit that you sk for assistance if you are feeling overwhelmed.

f it's true, say you actually work better under pressure.

What is the toughest problem you've had to face, and how did you overcome it?"

Try to make this about a problem that faced your company and not just you or your particular work group. The

bigger the problem, the better. Give specific examples of the skills and techniques you used to resolve this

problem. Emphasize the successful results. Be generous in sharing credit if it was a team effort, but be sure tohighlight your specific role.

Have you ever had to discipline a problem employee? If so, how did you handle it?"

This is a likely question if the position for which you are applying requires supervisory duties. Explain how youused problem-solving skills, listening skills, and coaching skills to help the employee. If those techniques turne

he employee around, be sure to say so. If those techniques failed, tell how you followed the company'spolicies and what the end result was.

Why do you want this position?"

Here's where your research about the company will help you stand out among the other candidates. Explain h

you've always wanted the opportunity to work with a company that... provides a vital public service, leads thendustry in innovative products, whatever... find something specific about that company that you can tie in wityour answer. Explain how your qualifications and goals complement the company's mission, vision and values

use specific examples). If you are applying for a position in a company for which you already work, explain hyou'll be able to apply and expand on the knowledge and experience you've gained from your current positionnd will be able to increase your contributions and value to the company through your new responsibilities.

Why are you the best person for this job?"

As with all other questions, be confident and enthusiastic when you answer this. Don't try to say you are the bualified person, because you don't know the qualifications of the other applicants. Instead, emphasize severa

easons why you should be hired. For example: "I've got extensive experience in [name the appropriate field]

nd have the specific skills you are looking for. I'm a fast learner who adapts quickly to change and will hit theround running. I'm dedicated and enthusiastic about helping your company meet its goals, and will provide tuality results with minimal oversite. I'm an outstanding performer who takes pride in my work. You won't hav

ny regrets when you hire me."

    UNEXPECTED QUESTIONS

nterview questions and answers can only be predicted and prepared for to a certain extent. There are endless

variations and no way to know every question in advance. But that doesn't matter. Because you know there w

be unexpected questions, you will not cringe or freak out when they pop up, as some applicants will. Instead, will turn them into opportunities to shine even more brightly.

No one knows you better than you. Memorize a list of your best features, your best selling points. Useevery opportunity and unexpected question to mention these.

Realize that sometimes what you say isn't as important as how you say it. Be confident, enthusiastic, andemember to smile often.

    QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK

Often the interviewer's last question is, "Do you have any questions for me?" Candidates who do not have

uestions show a lack of initiative and give the impression that they have minimal interest in the position. Staout from those lazy job seekers by asking questions!

Have your questions ready in advance. Relate them to the company or its accomplishments/challenges (your

esearch of the company will show and further impress the interviewer). Don't ask any question that shows thyou have not done your research about the company.

Do not ask questions related to you, such as "When will I be eligible for my first raise?" or "How often will I bubjected to a performance review?" Don't bring up money. (You can do that after you are offered the job.)

n addition to specific questions you develop based on what the company does, here are some sample genericuestions:

What do you enjoy most about working here?

Be sure the person you ask actually works for the company. Some organizations, especially public agencies, hnterview panels in which employees from other agencies participate.

s there anything I've mentioned that makes you think I'm not the best candidate for this job?

f they do mention something that's bothering them about you, such as lack of specific experience, this gives y last-ditch effort to change their opinion about you. If you've thought about your possible weaknesses in

dvance, you should have a prepared answer to those weaknesses. For example, "I know I have limited

experience in this field, but what I lack in specific experience I make up for in enthusiasm and desire to excel.'m a fast learner and I'll work harder than anyone else to be a top producer on your team."

When do you expect to make your final decision?

Be sure to ask that! Failure to do so may give the impression that you're not that interested, and you need toknow when to follow up.
