Extending Non-Graphics (‘P’ SKU) Strategy with Ivy Bridge based Intel® Core™ i5 Processor

8

• Intel® has expanded roadmap plans for processors that do not have integrated processor graphics starting with the 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3350P to meet continuing high demand for the entry Intel® Core™ i5 processors. These are expected to launch in Q3’2012.

• This new processor offers exceptional value by providing additional processor frequency and performance at the entry Ci5 price point, supporting customers who prioritize processor computational performance on platforms that are currently using discrete graphic solutions without switchable graphics.

• The Intel® Core™ i5-3330 processor will deliver the right solution for customers who desire Intel® HD Graphics 2500.

Lynx Point I/O Port Flexibility

• New architecture allows for some I/O Ports to be configured at time of system design

• I/O needs can be configured to meet needs of various designs • I.e. More USB3 on uATX boards, more PCIe on ATX boards

• Total of 14 USB2 ports not impacted by I/O Flexibility

• GbE LAN supported on any of PCIe Lanes

• Enables usages such as mSATA using single port

• For mSATA use I/O #13 or #14

• Max Number of PCI Express Ports is 8. If I/O 5&6 are configured to USB3 then I/O 13/14 can be configured as PCI Express

Introduction to Intel® Secure Key aka PP-DRNG

Delivering HW Assist That Produces High Quality Random Numbers

High Quality Random Numbers

• With a high-quality, high-volume Entropy Source, DRBG seeding is frequent and resulting random numbers are high quality (i.e., highly unpredictable).

High Performance

• With on-chip hardware implementation, RdRand instruction latency is comparable to software PRNGs. Solution is scalable enough to support even high-volume server applications.

High Availability

• RdRand instruction available to all applications and at any privilege level.

High Security

• Hardware module implementation isolates Entropy Source and DRBG from software attacks.

Available on Intel® Core i5 and above 2012 CPUs

Increasing Supply Flexibility on Sandy Bridge Quad-Core Processors

60

As customer demand for Intel ®Core™ i5 based processors continues to be very strong entering

1H’12, Intel® is offering three additional 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5 processors (based on Sandy

Bridge micro architecture). These skus are without processor graphics and must be used in systems

built with discrete graphics only.

• Provides additional customer product options and supply flexibility

• Requires system configuration with discrete graphics card only

– Built-in Visuals (Intel® Quick Sync Video, Intel® Insider™, Intel® HD Graphics, Intel® Wireless Display, InTru™3D Technology, Intel® Clear Video HD Technology) are not available with the exception of Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions which is available on these products

(1) Requires an Intel® P or Z Express chipset (2) Warning: Altering clock frequency and/or voltage may (i) reduce system stability and useful life of the system and processor; (ii) cause the processor and

other system components to fail; (iii) cause reductions in system performance; (iv) cause additional heat or other damage; and (v) affect system data integrity. Intel has not tested, and does not warranty, the operation of the processor beyond its specifications.

Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark* and MobileMark*, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchase, including the performance of that product when combined with other products.

Embedded Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

A private key is stored in firmware and used for authentication and encryption. It is lower cost versus smart cards and has easier usability. It is also more secure than SW and integrated with secure I/O.

Platform Embedded Asymmetrical Token (PEAT)

A factor of authentication embedded into the hardware

allows websites or business networks to validate that a legitimate user (not malware) is logging in from a trusted PC

Benchmark and Application Performance Tests

112

4. SYSmark* 2012 is the latest version of the BAPCo benchmark used to characterize business client performance based on

modern usage models and new or updated applications for the following scenarios: 3D Modeling, Data/Financial Analysis, Media Creation, Office Productivity, System Management and Web Development.

5. Cinebench* R11.5 is a benchmark tool used to measure the CPU and graphics capability for 3D rendering. The scenes use

cpu-intensive features such as reflection, ambient occlusion, area lights and procedural shaders. The results shown are based on running the multi-core CPU rendering test.

6. 3DMark* Vantage is a 3D graphics benchmark, designed for Microsoft Windows Vista* and DirectX*10. It includes two

graphics tests, two CPU tests, and several feature tests. The CPU tests measures the contribution of the processor on 3D graphical while the graphics test measures game simulation performance.

7. HDXPRT* 2011 “Create HD Score” represents the test PC’s performance in digital media creation and is based on the test

system’s performance in the three subtests – Edit videos from your camcorder, Create memories from your digital camera, and Prepare media for on-the-go.

8. HDXPRT 2011 “Edit video from camcorder” Time taken to convert 105 minutes of HD video footage for sharing on the

Internet and archiving on Blu-ray*. Applications used are DivX* 6.85 and PowerDirector 8.0. 9. HDXPRT 2011 “Create memories from your digital camera” Time taken to process vacation photos and videos from a 10

mega-pixel digital camera with 8GB storage capacity. Applications used are Adobe* PhotoShop* Elements 8, HDRsoft*, Photomatrix* 3, HDRsoft PhotoStudio* 2.13 and DivX* 6.8.5.

10. HDXPRT 2011 “Prepare media for on-the-go” Time taken to convert approximately 4GB of music and videos for a

portable media player. Applications used are iTunes* 9.03 and Windows* Drag and Drop. 11. POV-Ray* v3.7. is a .high quality free tool used for creating stunning three-dimensional still images The workload used is the built-in CPU benchmark that comes with POV-Ray. The workload consists of rendering a single scene. The metric is measured in ‘pixels per second. 12. Bibble* 5 Pro is a professional photographic editing tool and is designed to unite unparalleled photographic editing capability with a sleek modern interface. This workload consists of converting one hundred 8.2MP images in RAW format to JPEG format for viewing on a website. Total files size for the input images is 837MB.
